I disputed dozens on INQs (most are legit) via PFB to the following companies last night:

MBNA, CITI, Cap1, RoadLoans, HSBC, Wells Fargo, Providian, CountryWide, Chase, E-Loan, GMAC MTG, Macys, Discoverer, Juniper, Americredit.

I will let you know how it goes! :(

I dont want to rain on your INQ parade, however. PFB is a 50-50 chance at best. You are much better off mailing out non-pp letters to all the aformentioned creditors. Most will read...not want anything to do with it, and rescind the pull.

YMMV... I have had very good luck with PFB with several other issues thus far. I will be ready with non-PP letters just in case..

I know I know.. Most people will say not to bother with INQs.. but when you have 125+ across all three CBs, it tends to put a damper on your score. :P

Actually after you passed about 10....they stopped making a difference. INQ's account for a very small percentage of score. PFB does work, however I have NEVER seen an INQ removed through the use of it. By all means be the first to set precedence. If I were you I would just attack the INQ's from the past 6 months. Leave the others to rot.

Well - i have 47 on EQ, 30 on EX, and 37 on TU.

How much good luck did you have with the PFB's for INQs? can you give me some nbrs? I might try that for my EX INQs.

I'm doing TC now for *B* - so should get TU and EQ off - however it'll take a LOOONG time for that.

Also...I just noticed that you said most were legit. Im not going to get on a moral trip at all. I just think that you need to focus your efforts and use the credit pulls database so you are just not blindly firing off credit apps for things your score is not in the ballpark of.

It's generally considered poor form to dispute off legit INQs here.

LOL - and its OK to dispute legitimate baddies in the hope that the OC won't verify in time so it'll delete? I don't see how thats any different from disputing legit INQs.

Simon, you are obviously new here....trust the rules sticky lays out for you. Baddies and inqs are two different monsters. You have NO POSSIBLE WAY of knowing that a creditor has been 100% accurate in their reporting. There are too many variables and x -factors...however; regarding INQ's...Its cut and dry....did you apply?? YES or NO??

Wow.. I am taking heat.. LOL Tough crowd. :P

That's ok.. Not ethical I know.. but 90% of these were before I found CBs... While they may not hurt my score persay, they don't help when getting reviewed for credit offers or CLIs.

I just did the PFB dispute yesterday.. so I may not know if it will work for a while.

I've read (on here) that disputing INQs is a good way to get a fraud alert put on your reports.

I have no experience with that, but it might be something to keep it mind.

LOL... let's be real man... MOST of the baddies being disputed on CB are legit and belong to the OP.. A dispute is a dispute.. baddie or Inq, it is all the same to me.

Rug's right on with his comments. They are two different things.

However, the OP is PFB'ing them, which could be a variation on "goodwill" (dunno how the OP structured his communications) - it was just a heads-up that this might rapidly deteriorate into (another) INQ disputing thread.

Excuse me - i'm obviously a newbie. If a fraud alert is put on your report, what happens?

Oh, I see now.

Personally, I don't think I would go that route, but good luck with it.

Not a good will.. I structured my communication to the companies listed as an illegal non-PP. The worst they can do is say no or not reply. Where's the harm in trying?

IT IS NO DIFFERENT THAN DISPUTING ANYTHING ELSE.

See...that's the slope and it's awfully slippery down there... :P

Tuscani..there is no "tough crowd"...hwever your issue is somewhat trivial. You have members fighting BK's, PR's, and Leins...and you post about removing INQ's...just looking at your scores shows that your problems run slightly deeper than that. Until you get your scores up a bit, most creditors that will lend to you...dont give a hoot about INQ's, they just want to bend you over the fee barrel. Post your larger issues and let us help you deal with those. Fighting INQ's is for the birds.

I am not worried about a fraud report.. in fact, I have heard it is easier to get INQs removed with a fraud report on your file. :)

Too much time on your hands. Enjoy your INQ disputing and FA seeking.

Maybe I should put a fraud alert on my reports then. I'll do whatever it takes to get my scores up fast.
