  1. BOA business credit cards DO NOT REPORT to personal credit unless you don't pay on time as you personally guarantee their cards. Thanks Direct. They've been calling and emailing me for weeks so finally on a whim I applied and was approved for 16K!! My biz credit journey has begun! Were you already a customer of theirs?
  2. I wouldn't give a dime to BOA. I had a checking account with them with a decent balance. They sent me a letter stating I would Have to pay a $7.00 monthly fee. I went to BOA and talked with the manager. He said why are you going to close your account ? I said because i refuse to pay a monthly fee. I said I also have an account with Regions and they don't charge me a dime for a checking account. He then said OK. He closed the account, didn't thank me for doing business with them, NOTHING came out of his mouth except OK I liked the branch because it was only 3 blocks from my house. Two months later they closed that branch. I was so happy to hear that. Try Ally or Simple.
  3. Which is about the worst thing in the world you could have done. I told him to only pull once at NMAC and he did as requested. What should I have done? I guess I'm lost at this point. How can you fill out an online application and instruct someone what to do, after you left the premises. My online system does not work that way. There was an online credit app. I was hesitant and wanted to fill out the paper form from the NissanUsa.com site. However the sales guy told me to do the one on line. "YOU AREN'T GOING TO SHOTGUN ME ARE YOU?? I DON'T WANT 10 INQUIRIES" I stated...He said no, and that I would only see 1 INQ from NMAC because all leases have to go through them. I checked when I got home and that was the only INQ,

  5. @hrguy Not sure, I wasn't there when it all took place. I went to the dealership to test drive, then I filled out the online credit app when I got home. But the day before my scores were as stated above in the app.

  9. Doing this^ is what brought me here. Now I try not to tie material "stuff" to my happiness. When I said purchases should be investments in our long term happiness I wasn't talking about shopping to fill a void. I was saying that the things that you spend money on should be investments. I would never advocate for buying stuff...the last thing anyone needs is more stuff.
  10. Hello everyone, I am an old timer. I was on here sever years ago soaking up information like a sponge. I used what I learned to improve my situation and eventually had a 770 FICO. At that point I purchased a home, and also applied for and was granted several lines of credit. However out of all the changes I made....the one I needed to make most that I didn't was the way I thought about money. I perceived money and credit furthermore, as a way to consume things...instead of as a safety net or as....wait for it...leverage. I couldn't see the forest for the trees and before long I was right back where I started -- overwhelmed with debt. With that said, my advice for anyone on this board is to take the lessons you are learning and apply them...but to also change the way you conceptualize credit, cash and their potential. Examine the big picture. You don't reestablish your credit to fill up a closet, you do it to send your children to school, or to start a business, or to simply always have an back up plan. IMO, every purchase you make should be an investment in your long term happiness. So before you read another word, I would recommend that you really take the time and figure out.."after this process is over and I am where I want to be...what will I do then?"
  11. LOL, I love my MBNA Amex.... I want the Fool.com AMEX now. BTW...what is a business clear? I cant find it on the website, I asked a rep and she said "I dont know, we roll out new products all the time".....
  12. Looks like rates @ 11.99% why not go with an MBNA AMEX or an Motley Fool Amex? at 9.9 and 8.9 respectively?
