  1. CreditSesame from January: 777 Experian FICO 2 from mortgage app 1/30/12: 787 (it says FICO 2 scores range from 320-844) CreditSecure from 1/30/12: 768
  2. I have the same experience with CapOne. I have done that 3-way call with my bank several times, every one of them being a giant pain in the @ss. I have a tiny limit with them (1500), but they were my highest limit card after a CLD from Amex, so it was my main card. After approvals from Penfed and NASA, the CrapOne is going in the sock drawer. It will only see the light of day if I leave the country. Oh, and if you run it up all the way to your limit and then pay it off, they will give you a small amount available. I ran mine all the way to the limit, and paid it off, and now it shows $500 available. Unless I call, they seem to hold it for about 7 or 8 days.
  3. Woohoo! Just found out today I got approved for the NASA cash back card! Asked for $5k, and they counteroffered for $2k. Their reasons for the $5k denial were "insufficient establishment on requested credit limit and length of employment." Again, given my current CL's, I guess that is reasonable. Hopefully that will change according to Penfed's and NASA's reputation for generosity after you've been with them for a while. They still want me to send in pay stubs and some other documentation before they send the card. I also signed up with Alliant for their checking and savings, and got a preapproval for a $2500 visa during the app process. I didn't accept because I felt like that might be too much to get 3 cards in such a short period. It would also kill my average age. It already went below 3 years after the Penfed started reporting. (showed up on Experian almost immediately!) All I have left is to sign up for Patelco's 5% HSA, and I will be done for at least a year. Thank you, CB! For the first time in my life, I feel like I have a plan and my financial situation in order.
  4. Got turned down for $10k. Looks like I will just have to be patient. Can't say I was surprised given my existing CL's, and the current credit environment.

    B* for lates?

The b* faq says it might cause old, not-updated tradelines to drop off. And I'm sure the late is completely gone. CS has a summary showing the number of accounts that were delinquent; this changed to 0 from 1. Also, I see it in my TC change report as well. I'm curious to see my FICO, but I just paid for one a couple days ago before I applied for penfed, so I'm reluctant to pay for another one.
  6. I have heard of b* for old accounts, and I think I did get an old collection account dropped off this way, but has anyone heard of b* getting rid of lates on accounts? I had two 30 day lates on a student loan, one legitimate, one not. I had the not legitimate one removed back in January, but the legitimate one remained on the account. The account notes say "Dispute resolved; consumer disagrees." The late is from January 2005. I pull my reports daily using CS, and yesterday I noticed that my TU report no longer shows that 30 day. The account note has not changed, but my FAKO went up, and it no longer lists having a late payment as one of the negative reasons. I double checked using Truecredit, and it reports the same way. So has anyone experienced anything similar?
  7. Can I also get upgraded to member? Thanks!
  8. Well, I called and asked for $10k. The CSR said she would have to resubmit, and I won't be able to ask for another one for 12 months. If they deny it, I will still be approved for the original $3k. It says it's pending, so hopefully they'll ask for pay stubs soon.
  9. Everything normal on mine. Got charged once on the 2nd, just like usual.
  10. Thanks, guys! I will call them later today and ask for a higher limit. I'll let y'all know how it goes.
  11. Thanks! I'm definitely excited about adding a proper credit card to my wallet. The 5% cash back on gas isn't going to hurt either. The reason I was planning on waiting to ask for a CLI was that I asked when would be the best time to ask for one, and the CSR said maybe 3 or 6 months so they could pull a new report and they could see solid payment history. I guess it couldn't hurt to call back and ask for a CLI immediately. Did you wait until you activated the card? I haven't even received the card yet. I can relate, my old Sallie Mae SLs don't report to my TU. So my EQ is at 790, but TU 744. All three of my reports are pretty much identical, and all of my student loans show up. Although there might be something weird with the way my TLs are coded on my Equifax. Myfico is telling me the negatives on EQ are too many accounts with balances, short credit history, and missed payments. It says I have 5 accounts with balances, so maybe it thinks my installment loans are revolving? My TU report doesn't think so, and I have the same number of accounts on that report. I don't get the short history thing, either. I have the exact same history on all three, but EQ is the only one that thinks it is short. (7.5 years for oldest account, 3 years average age)
