*Very* helpful, II2WI. How did you discover you were not required to agree to automatic debit? IOW, where would I find the document stipulating what I must do in order to enter rehab versus what the CA may ask me to do but that I may decline to do? TIA.

So, while Magic Jack solves the issue of making outbound phone calls it doesn't solve the the problem of have an inbound contact number with VM. That's why I was thinking of a Skype account.

At some point I may to need to deal with creditors over the phone but don't want to give out my cell phone number, and because I don't have a permanent residence at the moment I have no landline. I'm thinking a Skype account with VM and an outbound calling plan might be the way to go. Thoughts?

The one bit I could use some direction on is where to read threads on 1) cleaning up judgments long after the fact and 2) about accounts that have been sent to collection more than a year ago that I haven't responded at all to. I'm guessing the main credit forum? Thanks!

Hello! BK7 and eviction 4.5 years ago, and believe it or don't I have managed to make things even worse for myself. (Not trying to garner sympathy, just stating the bald facts.) I've known about these boards for a couple of years but have been avoiding facing the coming ****storm. Have finally seen light these last few days and decided it's time to straighten up and fly right! Just made an appointment with ClearPoint for next week but doubt they can do much more than counsel me on how to proceed with collections and judgments (which is the status of everything I owe). I figure the only way to go is up. Right? (Someone please say, "yes." ) In a weird way, I'm kind of relieved to be facing my outrageous debt problems and look forward to diving into these forums for help. At worst, all I'll be able to contribute is encouragement to others and regular "thank yous"; at best maybe I'll be able to pass along some bits of info or knowledge to help others.
