  1. Thanks Marv... do you have any idea what a reasonable rate range/term would be on this? Is it going to have to be through a dealer or will I have a chance with some place like PenFed? Any bonus points for a good relationship with HSBC?

  4. Hey Guys, So far you, you have been saints. I love this place. Here is my issue. I'm using a vehicle of a family members that is due up in August (lease). I need to secure a vehicle sometime between now and then. Now, I make really good income and live really cheap. I did not think I would be able to buy a vehicle, so I have been planning on having to pay cash. I have roughly $4k I could use now. I should be able to have $10-$12k in August. As far as my credit goes. I have a bunch of small collections from 2002-2004, a prior GMAC lease that is paid, a $6k charge off from BOA and a repo from 2004 on Ford Motor Credit. I started a business back then that didn't really go anywhere. I have pretty much left my credit alone since. My credit is becoming more and more of an issue so I have started to repair it. I was able to get approval on a $300 CC from HSBC so far. In any event, what should I do? Is there a chance of me getting a $20-$25k car loan with $10k down? What about a $15k loan with $5-$8k down? What kind of interest rates? Am I better going to a CU/bank vs one of those in house finance dealers? Or should I stick to my original plan of buying a $5-$10k car in July for cash. Help!
