After the 3 year monitoring period, my student loans have been completely discharge as of Feb. 2019. I'm so thankful, because after being permanently disabled I didn't know what I was going to do about those student loans.

I got one too - bumped from $500 to $900. WOOHOO! Didn't even asked, I was just doing random checks and found the CLI by accident..

Thank you I have NFC U - Checking and Savings, but they will not show me any love and a credit card.

Hello CB'ers Well I couldn't wait any longer after re-faxing who I was along with ss card/DL and bill in my name (all done yesterday) I called today because the status on app still hadn't changed. I was told due to only 1 open trade line reporting on my CR I would now have to open a secured card with a deposit. I asked what credit report was pulled because I have 4 cards with only about 10% utl. I asked for reconsideration and they told me I could write NFCU. I marched up to HR and canceled my direct deposit. I'll shoot off a letter then try again in a few months.

Snark, Did you apply for any of the products? If so how soon after opening accounts (Sav/Checking)?

Finally became a member in the last two weeks (YES) applied for the nRewards visa, okay - then noticed in the status section for pending it was voided. They needed more info. well I faxed it over then the cus. serv. rep said did anyone explain to you to apply for the card now your payroll check or SS money must be direct deposted in your acct. I was like WTH!! I live in CA the closet NFCU is over 2 hrs a way. I don't want to dd in NFCU. Has any heard of this. HELP! I'm so mad, I've been trying to get into this CU for the longest time and now this.

Mike, different states have different(very different) requirements than other states. Things can change even down to county level in a state with dba's/fictitious business names(corps are diff since those are state level and even those have different rules state by state). I think what also threw a few people off was the order that things were done by the OP. Many assumed the OP had only thought up of the business name to get business credit when in fact the OP had decided to start up a business, and then decided to apply for credit(not a bad idea especially since it can be a killer to buy things for a startup and put everything on your personal cards). Anyway, congrats on the Amex. Hope the business works out well in the long run. Thanks webdev - that's exactly what I didn't want to do - put things on my personal credit cards..

Here in Cali it's both FBN or Doing Business As - this runs in the newspapers for 6 weeks.

Next time - try not to pass judgement on folks you don't know and do some reading on "Do business as" my business was recorded and everything is legal...
