This is probably how and why the CA's come out of the woodwork when you begin to look for a motgage and/or when your credit begins to improve.. REAL trolls....
-
hmpf... never had it happen to me in the entirety of my buying / credit history until last month. In this economy don't count on it never happening to you because it can .I read somewhere that credit card fraud (fraudulent charges) run into the billions each year. Inside jobs, outside jobs, a thief is a thief and just waitng fo an opportunity to getthier hands on your acct number/hard arnd money, and in the case of being victimied by this type of crime, there is no discrimination!

Credit card data breached at unnamed payment processor
cwa2 replied to hegemony's topic in Credit Forum
Well I have never had anything taken from me fraudulently so I wouldnt know if the amount was odd or not. However, it was done while I was sound asleep. I didn't have very much in this account, but I believe they took the small ammount as a test and since it went through they would have probably struck again, this time stealing even more . there is no safety anymore whether its online or at an atm. If you're going to get hit , you're going to get hit. there really is no way to protect consumer information from being breached when there is a human element involved. Because there is alway the possibility of dishonesty. No one's provacy is really saf anymore. get uded to it. whilr you take all of the necessary precautions some.entity out there is working day and night trying to figure out and they will...how to gain access to that information either directly or indirectly. So be prepared. I didn't ever give it a thought that one day my account would be compromisd but it was and it was a real.. reality check. the thief didn't know me, I was just another set of numbers that provided access to money, which was the main focus on thier agenda. not whether it was my last or not If these brachs continue, banks, CU will begin to loose customers and or go out of business thanks for listening CWA@ -

Well I was hit for 75.50 on sunday morning at 6.00 am the money was tranfrd from my acct to someone in the phillipines I closed the acct and filed a fraud report with my cu .I was advised that they will be crediting my acct with the money that was taken from my account. the transaction took place through an online money transfer company called XOOM and that's about how fast my money left my acct (by the time I discoverd it the money while still on hold had already been authorized to be debited form my account ) Oh and yes a !.00 transaction took place first to seif the account was active. Xoom is located in San Fransico somewhere and they specialize in online International money transfers I was devastated to find out that some A-hole felt privileged to help him/herself to my hard earned money. I'm filing a report with th FBI. The bow wows need to be caught and strung up and I mean it!!!! I will keep the board updated Thanks for listening CWA2 -

Good Evening CB Family, I just wanted to say and thank you . Long story short, around last year this time, I had one measly credit card ( BP gas card), scores were in the toilet and as my beloved grandmother used to say "couldn't buy a hen off of it's nest" Scores as of June 2008: EQ 535 EX 502 TU 498 Well as I sit here now, I feel a great sense of accomplishment! Today, I have two clean reports; EQ, Ex all baddies gone, TU is the only holdout with one CO/1 judgement but I will be working on this next week beginning 2009 . Here is how I did it Midland=AG complaint, they disappeared for good! NCS/TU= telephone call to TU threatened to fill with AG again, they disappeared within 24 hours C1 disputed as obsolete=sheduled to fall off early 2009 NCO= could not validate threated with complaint to AG=disappeared ( but could return) Sprint CO=disappeared without DV'ing ( could reappear) Palisaides=dv/dispute=disappeared Medicals=filed dispute with cra's = 6 disappeared, 1 remains RMJ dv and dispute=disappeared 3 paid judgements=disputed=disappeared. 1 remains-TU WST CO-remains on TU I put on my boxing gloves and as one CB family member put it "never back down" and I DIDN'T . Some days I wanted to cry because it didn't appear that I was making any progress, but slowly and surely, my fico's begaqn to creep up, then I got slamed with a sprint collection in Septemer fico's dropped. I continued to pay in full and on time. Fico's continued to inch up: as of today> EQ 662, TU 601, EX 566 now I have following cards: MACYS, Bloomies, C1 x2, Dell, Target, Walmart, Kays, I'm happy and just wanted to thank everyone here for all of the support! PS - With my current scores what card should I apply for now? I applied for a CU, TU was puled , I was denied, CO/judgement showing on TU. I was under the impression that all CU's pull EQ, which is my highest score HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hello CB Family! Haven't posted in a long while, but have been checking in every day or so and reading reading reading. Here's the skinny: Finally got Midland deleted after filing a complaint with the AG's office complaining that they had no proof of me owing them. I had proof however that debt had been paid off two years prior to with a canceled check-Ha-Ha! Received a letter from both AG and Midland advising that this derog would be removed from all three CR'As and that it WOULD NOT be sold to any other JDB! Next, several paid judgements deleteed with one judgement remaining. Next, old co C1 was due to fall off, beginning of 2009, disputed as obsolete and it worked! Recent CR updated to reflect deletion of C1 off of TU and EQ-nothing with EX- Still having problems with EX, have'nt filed any disputed with them lately, but they are next up on my list . When I began my credit rebuiling here with CB (see join date) Scores: TU-498, EQ-535, EX-502. Scores as of 12-13-08: TU-611, EQ-641, EX- 535 (559 highest score achieved since beginning credit repair journey. But I am still so excited that I have made progress and can see it. Last year this time, I had on gas card! I remember receiving a pre-approval target card while shopping in target at the beginning of the year and was afraid to apply, I came home with my pre-approval receipt and began my Internet search on target pre-approvals. That's how I found CB. There was so much information that it was overwhelming at first. So many of us with the same credit issues, but with one exception, individuals were taking back control of their credit and fixing credit issues that were long-standing and folks were helping each other. I was so excited, I went back to target gave them my pre-approval receipt and DL and was approved (I followed advise found here on CB and didn't go to the cashier for assistance, but instead I went right over to the credit desk) . Now, I have kohls, JCP and Macy's, 2 C1 acct with 4 figure limits each and 9 % utility! I am still rebuilding, but I am so happy that I finally have two scores that have reached the 600+ milestone mark. Good credit is very important. Setbacks do occur but will pass, I finally landed secure FT job recently, then DH was laid off, however I was able to pay all of the bills on time and in full in most cases sometimes leaving a small balance and paying in full by 2nd-3rd statement, with the help of DH's modest unemploment checks (didn't charge much used cards very modestly. He was recently re-employed with the same company ! There are two sayings that come to mind when I think about CB: "there is strength in numbers" and Team work gets the job done! I just wanted to say....Thank You CB Family!
