  2. I got a letter last night decreasing my limit to $2800. Was 6k. I called Chase livid this AM, as this was one of my "favorite" cards. After talking to the rep in India, and explaining that I am a good customer, always pay on time, way more than the minimums, blah blah blah, I was transferred to an American in Chase's lending dept. He went through my account, asked a serious of questions (i.e. credit app type), and promptly restored my limit--it took him all of about 3 mins. And, I just checked it, it is back to where it should be. I will be happy when we get through this credit crunch crap. Fighting with these lenders is aggrivating, And I feel that too many good paying folks are getting caught up in all of this silly nonsense. And, it is proof positive to me that no fancy computer algorithm will never take the place of a smart set of human eyes.
  3. Awww man, they got me too! I went from $1700 (wasn't much) down to $500!!!!!!!!!! I hate the fact that CSR's keep saying, "this action has been taken due to negative information on your credit report (EXPERIAN)..." (AMEX told me this when they cut my limit more than half ) I have no negatives on my reports. They are clean. They have been clean. They ccc's may not like my utilization right now, (20%), but I have no late pays, CO's, none of that crap! So don't tell me lies like I don't know what is on my reports!!!!!! This current climate makes me really ticked off that I have really tried to be responsible in handling my finances, and yet I (like so many others) get the bank's flowers to kiss!
  4. Actually, I think the last thing we wanted was for taxpayers to bail out private industry! Now that it has happened, doesn' t the government have a say in how the money is spent when we are hemorrhaging thousands of jobs a week?
  5. LOL s7v7n, you ain't missing much. I do like Bean's sweaters (non-sherpa looking ones ), they have nice affordable cashmere, but I am in no danger of running up any where near my limit...I will buy a few Christmas gifts from them this year...
  6. Congrats, OP. I wanted a TU pull and just applied for this card and was instantly approved for $6000 yesterday. MY TU is ~720 with 5 inqs all year. I can not believe the progress I have made since joining this board.
  7. I just got a 1k increase on my Wamu too. Just turned a year old. Seems that every 6th statement, I've gotten an increase. Sux that I had a 768 PFico and they only gave me $750 but now--->$2750 1 year later. So, I guess Wamu's computers are still in control?
  8. CPPSAVINGS is working as of August 18.
  9. Thanks Breeze. It really feels soooo good to have good credit while being fiscally responsible. I will never max my cards out, or charge anything that I don't have the means to pay for again. Plus, now I am in a position where if I need credit, I can get credit. That is a really great feeling.
  10. After lurking for the better part of a year, I had to stop by to say thanks to all of the regular contributors on this board. For years, (after major screw ups with credit in college), I had no credit. And like a lot of people, I was scared to get back into managing credit cards again. Finally, last year after a personal crisis arose where I needed to be able to buy a plane ticket in an emergency, and I didn't have funds or available credit to do so, the light bulb came on, and I knew that I had to do better than I was doing. I couldn't possibly continue to live without credit. Aside from the fact that the lack of available open tradelines was wreaking havoc on my ficos. Well, I started off pre-CB October '06 with one $300 cap one starter card. I found this site around February of this year. I had around 3 baddies per credit report, and there were other collections that were out there that were never inserted into my reports. My scores were all low to mid 600's. Today I have the following cards: Cap One - $1,000 Chase Freedom - $4,000 (highest limit I have EVER had) Ag FCU - $500 WaMu - $750 (Very surprised at this limit as my PFICO was 768 at the time that they pulled) BofA 99/500 - $500 Well all the baddies are gone except one on EX. My scores dropped a little because the of Chase and WaMu, those are my newest additions, but the scores are TU 744, EQ 727, EX 672. I had a mortgage pull earlier this year, although I haven't purchased yet. When the wicked CA's came out, I DV'd them all and they ALL went away! Sorry if this is very long, but I want to encourage anyone who might feel down about their struggle today. I may not have had as many baddies as some, but like everyone else, I had to take action. I never could have been in this position if it hadn't been for the great people who operate and contribute to CB. Thanks to you all!
