nope, you are legally obligated to fulfill the terms of the contract. There aren't any rights of recision on car purchases. RC

Statute of Limitations for auto purchase?

The DMV in the state you sold the car in will have a copy of the title, just do a title search on it and ask for copies. RC -
I had an Interstate Credit Collections pop up on my bureaus, I did the online disputes with TU and EQ, both came back verified very quickly. I called TU yesterday, spoke with someone in a call center, was adamate that the collection wasn't mine, she said they'd start an investigation, yadda yadda. I then called the collectors myself, was adamate that the account wasn't mine, they said they'd investigate, I just refreshed my report....its GONE from TU... hopefully it will stay gone, my score jumped 40 points. I had a business card with First USA, and I can say, unequivocably, that they sucked. They are still reporting some of the cards that were IIB as delinquent. RC

I'm on a mission to get a couple of credit cards/ positive tradelines post BK and I'm interested in which cards you wouldn't have if they begged you to take them? I had pretty bad luck with Providian in the past, so I probably won't call them again, how about y'all? RC

yeah, they denined me.

I've banked with them for over 15 years. I really wasn't expecting to feel the love from them, but after getting my discharge last week I figured it was worth a shot... I have one open collection on the report that definitely isn't mine, I'm sure that is hurting me, but the dispute process for that hasn't run its course yet.

Great progress!

I just disputed two last week...one came back verified (which is completely wrong, so I'm going to have to fight this one) and the other was deleted. I'll start the letter writing next week. RC

GEMB hit my EQ and I also applied for a Wachovia card earlier today, which also hit EQ, my scores didn't change tho, we'll see. RC

I applied online w/ rooms to go (GE Moneybank) and got a 2k limit in about half a second. Its 23% interest, but zero interest until 4/2008. I have the money in the bank to pay it off at anytime, but I want to get a good TL going, so we'll see. RC

After emerging from my Ch13, I'm looking to reestablish my credit. I talked to a finance guy and he says I should look at getting some revolving credit. My EQ is 667 and my TU is 636, I have two current tradelines, both installments (Mortgage and a lease) both never late. I need to get some furniture, so I was thinking of trying Rooms to Go, and apparently the Sams wholesale club is a good one also. Anyone have any experience w/ these? RC

I like the water heater idea. My contribution to this thread would be...oatmeal. For $2.00 per work week, I can eat two packs of oatmeal a day for lunch. That's .40/day, vs. at least $5.00 on the drive through. Its got good cholesterol, tastes ok, most coffee pots in the work world have a hot water tap, so its easy. I also quit drinking carbonated beverages. They're terrible for your body, anyway, and expensive. We still eat out more than we should, but this helps offset it. RC

perhaps there's a bankruptcy specific forum somewhere? RC

you can get rid of judgements in a BK, Student loans won't go anywhere, usually. You DON'T want to file this on your own, from the sounds of it, the debts are enough for someone to fight you on. IMO RC
