Please don't give up. almost the same thing happenned to me. Lost my husband than 4 months later my SON than less then a year later lost my mom and then 8 months after that lost my sis (37 with 4 kids) I wanted to die also. I finally had to file BK. My heart goes out to you for I can feel your pain. After bk it was hard for a while but just keep your head up and beleive when I tell you it will get easier and you will have ALOT of support from this board. God bless you and don't give up..

Maybe you should worry more about paying your child support on time then your precious Amex card. Was not going to reply to this till I seen you were worried about an f/r on your Amex. Some things, like your child, is more important. I was not going to say anything either until I seen your post. Give this poor person a break. At least she pays child support and MY GOD it is so easy to get behind for some people that live paycheck to paycheck. You get sick one week your behind, if you only work one day of the week for some unforseen reason you give all your paycheck for child support. Some people really care about there credit so OF COURSE they are afraid of a F/R. If she was trying to avoid paying that would be a different story.

I have also been trying to get in with Citi. (BK 04) I did get in with Zales and Gordons jewerlers. Maybe get in with them and hopefully with time we can get a rewards card...

I'm not sure. my BK doesn't show on TU but I still was denied 2 cc that pulled TU only because of BK. I would also like to know. what was your reason for being denied?

I really don't think that they realized that, because when they posted we all thought that it could be used by everyone that opened a new checking account. And most likely when the person received the check they could have thrown it away thinking it was some sort of scam. I know I wouldn't deposit any check I wasn't expecting. I hope not. I would think that they remembered about the check and just figured that they were sent it by mistake.
