  1. I wasnt sure whether to post this here or in the BK forum, but it is regarding reporting so I thought I'd give it a shot here. While in an active CH 13 BK, years after the filing/confirmation, can a creditor report a late payment? NOT new credit - this account was included in the BK. Specifically, I was late this month on my car note, which was included in the BK and not reaffirmed. I have googled this extensively but get conflicting answers. Thanks!
  2. I will try and obtain that. In the meantime I did file the CFPB complaint online.
  3. No real proof - just that after getting it cleared up with the CU the account supervisor read it out to me from their system how it was reporting, and I know it's true because TU and EX updated. I do wish I had something else however. Very frustrating.
  4. I am having a real issue with Equifax. Long story short, they are reporting my BK accounts wrong - as in not the way the CU is reporting to them. I had some issues with the CU reporting incorrectly recently, reporting them as "Charge offs" with a balance - they were never in CO status, actually they were never even late. After going back and forth with the CU they fixed it from their end apparently because TU and EX are now reporting correctly again. EQ however is still reporting incorrectly even after I disputed in writing that it was incorrect and that the creditor has verified to me that they are reporting as "Included in BK, never late" with a zero balance. Basically EQ refuses to correct this. What do?
  5. That odd (to me) that TU has always been your most difficult, because it has always been the absolute easiest for me. It seems like everything I dispute they automatically change without even verifying it - I guess I better be grateful! Now EQ on the other hand...........
  6. Thanks! I feel much better now, I would rent if that is my only choice but really want to own.
  7. What are the realistic chances, if any, of obtaining a mortgage while in active Ch 13? I have a mortgage now, pay outside of the BK and always on time. I really want to move next year, which will put me at 3 years into a 5 year plan. I would prefer to buy, but would rent if I had to. TIA!
  8. Quick question - I am waiting on my welcome package, however if I want to apply for a credit line with a co-applicant do they need to be a member of PSECU? I am freezing my EX so would they even consider it, or require me to unfreeze EX?
  9. Thanks. For some weird reason my EXP is showing a bunch of lates that the other 2 are not. At one time they all were, but I goodwilled the OC. They disappeared of TU and EQ, but not EX. Weird thing is I called the OC and they said they are still showing as reporting all the lates, so not sure why they arent on the other two. There is no way that I will get approved for any credit with the lates.
  10. Quick question - not to hijack the OP's thread but it seems like PSECU knowledgeable people in here. I recently applied for membership, got accepted. They pulled both EX and EQ - my EX has a few lates that the others dont have - 2 30's, 1 60, 1 90 and 1 120 - all on the same tradeline. I plan on putting EX on ice Friday, if I apply for a line of credit at PSECU will they be okay with just using EQ and/or TU?
  11. GOODWILL GOODWILL GOODWILL!!! I had 2 30 day lates, a 90, and a 120. I paid it up to date and sent off about 5 goodwill letters to CEO's. In the meantime I called the Customer Service # and explained my situation and asked nicely if they could goodwill delete my lates. They said no. 2 days later they were all gone, I dont know if it was the phone call or one of my goodwills -- but they are gone.
  12. Anyone else have them pull both EX and EQ? I applied for the initial membership and got a hard pull on both.
  13. Also, this is something that I have found. It really hurts you in the long run to pay a bill even a day late--even when it is not reported. Like you, I got into that habit recently, but after reviewing all of my statements I have paid HUNDREDS in late fees! Some cards I would have paid off if not for the late fees. If you have not already get organized - make several lists, one with your balances in descending order, next with your interest rates, and another with your due dates in order- so that you can prioritize. You may have done all of this already, but I am just spouting out ideas as they come because I have been in your exact place before. I know for a fact Discover will do a payment plan AND move the due date for you.
  14. Im glad Lustforthemoment brought up slashing expenses as well. Like you, insane utility bills (Texas summers!) put me in a further bind than I already was. One $500 electric bill can set you back! Here are some things I have done to cut back: Cut the cable and internet - bought a $20 antennae for my TV which got some good channels. Bare bones on the grocery shopping NO eating out, including snacks, coffees, sodas etc -- if you are like me and eating out is your form of socializing cut it to once or twice a month and try to find places with deals or 2 for 1 specials. Look at extras you can temporarily suspend - expensive haircuts, clothes purchases, lawn maintenance. Thats just a few but there is millions more ideas on the internet!
