  1. Hi WhyChat, Thanks for all your help. What did you mean earlier about insurance premium backpayment not being a collectable debt? Is that really true?
  2. A couple of letters saying that the Insurance Co turned it over and asking me to contact them for payment, and giving me a 30 day notice for validation. The phone calls went to voicemail and said the same. Nothing so far seems to be in violation of FDCPA based on my reading here: http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.shtm
  3. It's not on any credit report (yet?) and I've followed your steps on opting out. I've been googling about insurance premium being or not being a collectable debt and haven't found anything so far, either way.
  4. WhyChat, Yes, it was premium and insurance was canceled. Where can I learn about back payment not being a collectable debt? I had called the Insurance Co, they said they won't take a payment because they turned over my account to CA. And now I have CA sending me letters and calling my cell phone regularly.
  5. Hi, If a medical insurance (Aetna) bill went to CA, can you still use whychat's HIPAA method? Or should one settle with CA and ask for a PFD? Thanks.
  6. Hi All, I'm planning on going to medical school for the next 4 years. Any lenders that will waive the 3% origination and 1% default fee for the Federal Stafford and Federal Graduate PLUS loans? Any other criteria should I look at when picking a lender?
  7. We have had many negative marks on our accounts and have purchased homes. Just wanted to say all may not be lost. Thanks. This won't keep me from purchase for too long. When the CO happened, I only had one other credit line (CC). So it hit pretty bad. But since then (thanks to CB) I opened multiple lines of credit (auto loan, cc) and made timely payments. Should be good in a while.
  8. My verizon paid CO from a year go, was on EX, EQ. It disappeared from EQ a few weeks ago but appeared on TU for the first time. Man.....I know I made a mistake by not taking care of the bill on time, but this is the only negative account on my credit file and keeping me from buying a home. So sad...
  9. FAKOs should be ignored
  10. So, if you sign up for True Credit, and do the *B, that helps, but aren't they FAKO's? If so, where do you get your FICO's (besides myfico.com...) Do you just pull directly from the companies once every couple months or what? thanks! your FICO isnt likely to change everyday...........if you want it, use myfico every once in a while like maybe every month or every two months..................but I believe only TC and AMEX 365 let you do daily *b
  11. I'm impressed!
  12. Same happened to me with Chase pulling TU and EX.......just recieved the card last week with 10k credit limit. Not bad.
  13. Meaning that it wont affect the score.........but if a human being happens to be reading ur report (human being = manual review) he/she will see the note by the account, which says that the account was closed by the credit grantor (instead of closed by the consumer). The first is generally considered the worse of the two.
  14. Very useful program! *Applause* Btw, I have setup a pre-programmed mouse/keyboard movement recording macro on my pc. To set it up, I hit the record button and then pulled a TC update. From that initial setup, it now (replays the recording) runs TC updates every 1445 minutes (24 hours + 5 mins) when I'm sleeping. It DOES have its share of issues (such as leaving the computer on, you cannot use the computer while the macro runs, it messes up if the website changes or loads slow, etc) so I dont recommend setting it up. Just wanted to share an small idea that I came up with.
  15. I've been a few times late on Citi and Verizon, upto a week, I never called just made the payment + charges. Never showed on credit reports.
