  1. OP, try sitting down with a salesperson and ask them for everything shifter mentioned. They should tell you all of that without you signing anything. Don't let them run your credit either, just tell them your credit score and go from there. If you post all that info here, we can let you know if it's a good deal or not.
  2. I use CS too. Something is weird though. I just applied for a Bank Atlantic card and got New Inquiry alert. I pulled and saw the inquiry but then it's been gone since. The next pull, and all the ones after, shows TU without the inquiry. So, do I still have the inquiry and CS just doesn't see it or did it drop off for some reason?
  3. Just skimmed it but I can see why you worked as a writing tutor. It sounds more like a MSN article than a blog, nice job. Its just common sense though (IMO). I just turned 23 and graduated without any CC debt (only student loans) and I had almost 200k in credit line. I'm going to bookmark your webpage, keep it up.
  4. My friend has an Associated card and they're issued by Citibank.
  5. USAA. They never even did a credit pull on me. Initial line was 2k, "pre-approved" when I signed up for checking/savings accounts.
  6. Wamu said they can't do anything until the check bounces. Repaired, I like Wamu because they're the most convenient for me. The funds are put on hold but you still earn interest on them (3.75% as of today), just can't withdraw right away, so they're not really making a "killing" off my account.
  7. My roommate paid me for 1-year rent with a convenience check from her chase biz. Today when she called chase to request a new card, the csr did a lost/stolen report on her biz card out of no where. First off, my roommate did not request to report that, just wanted a replacement card. Secondly, it wasn't even the right account and the csr didn't even ask to make sure what account. My roommate got the 1-800 # from the website and entered the last four digits of her personal card when prompted so the entire time, she didn't mention her biz card at all. Her supervisor couldn't undo the report and she says the convenience check will bounce. This means I will get hit with a returned check fee and maybe lose some goodwill with WAMU. They used to hold checks 10k+ for over 11 business days but they started clearing them right away recently. Has anyone experienced something similar to this? Will the check really bounce?
  8. I stopped caring about it. I used to just like a clean-looking file but no one sees it anyway haha so I don't care anymore
  9. I don't have a top 5 but Citi Plat AmEx for its 5x/3x points is my favorite. I keep a random V/MC in wallet in case AmEx isn't accepted.
  10. nope but its my favorite card.
  11. Did you guys have to fill in some info or was it just instant? I see the same exact thing as the first screenshot but when I click it, it asks for income and bank info (I think). Is it a soft pull if I fill this out?
  12. Citi AmEx Merrill+ Visa WaMu Debit for cash emergencies
  13. thanks for the replies. i wasn't sure what i wanted, except discounts on flights. i'm not a big spender though. its probably better getting a good cashback card and save up the cashback to use towards flights rather than a "travels" card which would took me forever to earn enough points for a free flight. does this make sense or am i thinking about this wrongly?
  14. hi.. i tried searching but the results didn't seem to relate to what i'm asking. is the AmEx BlueSky a good travel rewards card? it has no annual fee but i don't know much else about it. any recommendations, and reasons, on good, no af travel rewards cards? also, how is the citi thankyou point program now? it used to be pretty good with their fixed points redemptions but i don't know if that is still available. thanks everyone.
  15. 4 years. I'm 22 and I got SL and my first cc at 18.
