  1. By the way, this just occurred this month. Still in the 30 day window.
  2. It's been awhile since I've been on the board but it was extremely helpful in the past for credit repair. However, I haven't been in this situation but have read the newbie info. Situation: Saw dentist, paid all copays as they requested ($511 in total). Dentist didn't bill insurance. They did not contact me but instead sent to collections. The dental office has agreed to bill insurance but stated it is already in collections. I want to dispute this with collections but not sure how to write it. Wouldn't I just want to dispute it rather than state all details, which is an admission that it's my debt. What if the dentist doesn't follow through and bill insurance? Thanks for any help.
  3. Yes, that does sound like a definite consensus. I haven't had to fight these battles in a while and can't remember but if I DV them, they can't do anything (put on cr) until after they've validated?
  4. I don't have much information since it is not on my credit report. Asset is already looking at my report - they sent me a letter stating so. WhyChat has said not to bother DV since they don't play fair and they don't send real verification anyway so won't I be bringing myself to their attention?
  5. I'm going to update this thread because I need some help and quickly!! I'd like a few more opinions since it is out of the 30 days. I'm in the process of moving so lots of stuff in boxes and didn't know how long they have sent letters. I believe the first letter was March 1 so way out of the 30 days. I am in the process of buying a house and obviously they are monitoring my CR as they sent a letter today stating just that (you are looking into mortgages...). The account still isn't on my credit report and I need it to stay that way for the next 30 days until I close. Do I DV them, ignore, or what? I feel if I send them something, they will pursue me even further since they got a response. Please help!! The more opinions the better
  6. Anyone? Ballmarks?? Marv, what do you think? I don't want to pull the CR unnecessarily.
  7. You don't think I'd be initiating something..they get a response and get excited and get the CR and realize it's not on there, etc etc? What does everyone else think? I really don't want to mess this up.
  8. We are looking at a 2001 Audi A8 and have current financing through Cap One at 9 something%. Credit scores are around 710, 720, 730. The dealer wants to try and see if he can do better. What do you think is typical interest rate for that year car and those scores? Ballmarks are great. Thanks.
  9. I'm really not familiar with it but I believe it is out of SOL. I think it's already passed the 30 days. I was out of town the first couple of weeks after it came.
  10. I am suddenly receiving letters from Asset Acceptance regarding an account they state is mine. It is not on my credit report. Is it best to just ignore it since it is not on the CR anyway? Or do I start the verification process now before it is? I would think the former... Thanks
  11. How did you write up the sales contract on that? Did the sellers have any problems with using the program? The contract was written for the sales price plus the amount extra we were borrowing from AmeriDream. That's why the house has to appraise - since you are raising the contract price. We bought the house just before it was being foreclosed so the sellers weren't going to complain! I'm not sure why they would anyway, as long as they sell the house.
  12. Thanks for your help everyone. I like the lease idea so we wouldn't reduce the house right away. What's the best method of finding lease purchases. I only see one in the local paper where we are moving.
  13. We used the AmeriDream program with the FHA loan with no hitches. It will inflate the price of your house so you do have to ensure the house appraises. We borrowed $5k so the purchase price went up by $5500 ($5k borrowed plus $500 processing fee). Basically all you lay out is $500 for the service. It was very helpful and easy in our case. Hope that helps.
  14. Lori, what have you tried so far?
  15. Thanks for your help Cedric. I think we are going to drastically reduce the price of our house because we need to move ASAP for job reasons. That will only leave us with $10k or so for a down on a $190k house with no doc or 80/20 - whatever loan works for us. Hopefully that's possible. Our scores should rise soon once our cc's reflect recent payoffs. Are you working with any good lenders for this situation?
