Hi gang! I'm an old timer here. Just dropping by to report that I am saying goodbye to my Amex Platinum card. I got this card with the help of the group. I used it extensively for it's benefits as I used to travel a lot. Now that I have cut back on my traveling, I can't justify the annual fee anymore. I had it switched to the Gold Premier card, it will be my primary account that I will use, mainly for the points now.

When I first applied for Nordstrom I got declined. I then reapplied when I had only 1 inquiry left. Nordstrom is notoriously averse to inquiries on your credit file. How many inquiries on EQ do you have?

Amex is reigning in their credit products. If you apply for the charge cards, you might get an approval.

Today I called and asked if I qualified for any CLI on my 4K Platinum Plus visa. The agent asked me how much more do I want, I said "maybe another 1K or 1.5K to make it as 5.5K total credit line". She said, "how would you like a credit line of 7K?, would you like to accept it?" I said, "well, if you insist then I have no other choice". Nordys is the best!

Yes, approval with no inquiry at all. I accepted by calling and said yes I accept. And no I did not order anything from their overpriced catalog.

The site has amazing deals though. An 8MP digital camera for $49 and a 1Terabyte external Hard drive for $89. My hands are itching to get that external hard drive.

I got the pre-approval catalog as well. I called just because I was curious, the agent told me that I am pre-approved and that it will not incur any further inquiry to my credit. I accepted and got a credit line of $1,850. But I doubt if I will ever use the it though... probably never, as their inventory really is overpriced.
