  1. The SOL is based upon the state you lived in when opening the contract or the state you currently reside in. Creditor can choose. How can I find out which one the creditor chose to use? Do I have to ask them directly? That's a great question! I'm sure if you call them you can coax the info out of them. I once called a collection agency in regarding one of my accounts in an attempt to settle the account and have it deleted. Well, things got a bit heated and I wound up telling the rep that I decided that I wasn't going to pay her a dime because the account was most definately outside of the SOL. The rep proceeded to give me the exact date that the SOL would expire on my account, as well as a few other juicy tidbits of info. So my suggestion, call and tell them that your account is outside of the SOL, then wait for the response. Let them give you all of the info you need. Just make sure they aren't lying to you. I know my SOL is coming up just unsure if it now on soon. The Original agency is over 6 1/2 years ago.

  3. Do you have the letter you used for the PFD? I seen one here, but it was from 2003. And congrats I am looking to do the same.
  4. In the past 10 years I have lived in 5 states and 2 different countries due to military. Would my SOL be my home of record or wherever I was during the initiation credit approval?
  5. I have a Star Card which I've had since 2004. I think it is great for military members to have and build up their credit! I have a $5,500 though $500 is for clothing sales.
  6. I have also filled out my paperwork to reup my clearance, but now Im going for a higher clearance. When I submitted the paper to have my financial and criminal background check the clearance monitor told me I had to fill out why things were late or shown unpaid. I have sent him receipts and a letter stating my side of the story. I am currently waiting to hear back now.
  7. This is a great site I feel like I am learning so much.
  8. I wanted to find out what should I do with my CR being double posted. I had a account with HSBC that was charged off and sold to Midland. But they are both posted on my CR and it only says transferred with Experian but not Equifax & Trans Union. What should I do dispute it or contact them directly? Thank you in advance!
