  1. Thanks for the replies! @deemac: I'll definitely look into getting a secured card. @jaybee: The late payments on both cards happened around the same time. Chase Card: 3-30 day late payments from March-May 2009 - The card/account was opened in 2007 and has been closed as of March 2009. Citi Card: 1-60, 1-90, 1-120 day late payments from July-Septemper of 2009 - The card/account was opened in 2004 and has been closed as of March 2009 "I would keep the 5 year-old account with the three 30-day lates for now." So by me trying to have Chase turn those 3 negatives into positives, does it delete my account completely off my credit report? I'm a little confused sorry.
  2. There are 2 tradelines. Chase has been closed with 3-30 Day Lates. Citi is a different story. Older by 2 years. That one also has a 30-Day, 60-Day and 90 Day late on it which I settled my debt for less than the full amount by roughly 2K. Was pretty young, didn't know anything about credit nor was I thinking about it. Didn't know that settling for less would mess up my credit so much. If I knew I wouldn't have done it! I had lost my job at that time and just couldn't pay the monthly on that one. I think THAT card is the one that's really hurting my score. That card has been closed around the same time as well. So I have no open tradelines except an installment account for my car.
  3. For sure! I'm super hesitant to do anything in general besides check my reports haha! I have 3-30 Day Late payments on my credit report that I would like taken off. I sent them a goodwill email twice to see if they might do so since the account has been closed for several years now. I originally called Chase to find out the exact months I was late and if I was in fact late more than 30 days and if so, how many days late. I wanted to get as much information before I wrote my letters. Upon calling them twice, they could not find my account with my name, birthday, social security number, account number etc. They said it was no longer in their system and therefore had no way of giving me that information. I thought this would be good way to get it off my report but I don't necessarily want to lie. I just don't know how to go about disputing it since those are my options. I'm guessing a hard letter to all 3 CRA's will be the best choice but not quite sure how to word the dispute. Thanks for all your help, you all rock!
  4. Yeah that's what happened, although they didn't even say it was purged. I was told twice that my account was no longer in the system and they couldn't find it via name, birth date or even my social security number. I am a member of Equifax's Advantage plan and the choices for dispute for account verification are: -I have never paid this account late -My account is included in my bankruptcy -Insurance paid this account late, remove late payments -My credit limit and/or high credit amount is incorrect -Please verify date of last payment, date opened, date closed, or date of first delinquency -Please verify the account descriptions shown on my account I'm assuming I should be choosing "I have never paid this account late?" or am I going about this the wrong way? Thanks.
  5. Hello again! So it's been another week since I've sent my email to both Mr. JD and Mr. GS with no response from either of the two. I'm guessing my next step should be to send in a letter by mail? I'm getting my contact info from Chase Contact Info , is there updated information that I'm just not finding? Thanks again in advanced.
  6. So it's almost been a week since I've emailed. Anyone know the amount of time they get back to you? I emailed a certain someone at the Executive Office but maybe he's no longer there? The only list I keep finding is from several years back so maybe it changed? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Awesome! Thanks so much for all the help. I'll try emailing tomorrow morning to see if I can get those 30 Days fixed. I'll post with updates.
  8. So I'm super new to CB and loving all the information so thanks to everyone in advance. I'll cut right to it. I had a CHASE Disney Visa that I closed back in March of 2009. If I remember correctly, I got put on their Hardship Program when I lost my job and was able to pay a lower monthly with my account being closed. That was fine since I wanted to stay away from credit cards at that point. I ended up paying everything in full. During the time I've had that card I had 3 "30-Day Late" payments. I called customer service today to see if I can get more information on those 3 months and really find out if I was, in fact, 30 days late but the woman told me she could not pull up my account. We tried using my social security number and nothing came up. It was as if I've never had an account with them. I would really love to get those 3 "30-Day Late" payments off but do not know how to proceed or how to form my letters. Here's some info on that account: CHASE Card Services: Status: PAYS AS AGREED Account Owner: Individual Account High Credit: $1,590 Credit Limit: $1,500 Terms Frequency: Monthly (Due every month) Date Opened: 04/2007 Balance: $0 Date Reported: 11/2010 Date of Last Payment: 09/2010 Date of Last Activity: 09/2010 Months Reviewed: 42 Activity Designator: Paid and Closed Date Closed: 03/2009 Date of First Delinquency: N/A Comments: Account closed at consumers request From 04/2007 to 09/2010, It shows I was only late April, May and June of 2009. Thanks again for any help anyone can give.
