  1. Unfortunately, the only people that can answer your question are at your Credit Union. It can't really hurt to ask them. Keep in mind that the whole point of a secured loan is that almost all risk on their end is eliminated, that means your scores really aren't going to be a deal breaker most likely.
  2. I've only had mine for 7mos. I just use it for parking meters and soda machines on campus. I had zero credit of any kind (always paid cash) before this card, so it's also my oldest account.
  3. I refuse to accept your version of reality.
  4. I just got an alert on my credit monitor. When I checked it, I randomly noticed that it was reporting my cute little $100 BBRWZ card as having a $300 limit. Logged in to my account and verified it there. Got bumped without asking, didn't get charged any additional fees and they didn't even bother telling me about it. Anyone else have this happen recently?
  5. If something like that is happening, you need to call them BEFORE the due date and explain the situation. They may have extended your due date to accomodate you, or at least had that information available when they made their decision whether or not to close the account. It's a lot easier to prevent them from closing an account than trying convince them to re-open one they closed fearing default.
  6. So, just to be clear, you were 30 days past due and they closed your account as they have a right to do? They then asked that you pay them the money you owe them? Assuming I understood correctly, I fail to see what is so unreasonable about their actions.
  7. I would love to have my own submarine. It doesn't even have to be fancy. A WWII surplus Balao class diesel sub would be plenty of awesome for my needs.
  8. This isn't entirely true. If they were running it after services had been rendered I would agree. I would be more than willing to hear legitimate reasons why running it before or at the time of treatment is necessary to render the treatment they are required by law to provide regardless of the results.
  9. They have to treat the patient regardless of their ability to pay. That means the only reason for running a credit check is to determine just how many services they think they can pad the bill with, or just how little they need to do to meet a bare minimum of care and get you out the door. Either way it's going to have a negative effect on treatment.
  10. At best I see you qualifying for the $100 CL card. Even if you qualified for something higher, that's when the AF charges are added. If I were you, I would get the 2 I have current and then get a good secured card with as high of a limit as possible or at least the ability to add to the account over time.
  11. I got error 170 that they couldn't confirm my identity and that I have to call during business hours to confirm. Didn't stop them from authorizing my CC of course.
  12. I applied in July. I read every single word of the terms and all subsequent disclosures. There was nothing about it anywhere in them. Of course that doesn't mean they haven't changed them since then.
  13. Yes, the prequal is a soft pull. It will then give you a link to "apply now" which does the hard pull and actually makes the decision or gives you a message that you will be contacted in X number of days. I was told I would get a response in 10 days so I called and asked if they needed more information, they asked me verification questions and approved me. I got the card before I got the letter telling me they needed more information.
  14. Nothing during the application or my user agreement said anything about being a BB employee as a prerequisite for the card. Considering all of the other fine print they had no problem adding to the agreement then I'm sure it would have been in there had they cared.
  15. Sounds like a jail visit.
