Moved around and checked CR and shows 120d late

I'm been looking to solve this since I found about this about 8 months ago and have been reading various credit boards.

 

In college, I basically was a nomad and it didn't help my parents moved about too, so it would be hard to pin me at an address. Upon checking my FAKO in Feb 04 I found no baddies on my report. Then on May 04, this company, Nelnet, I never heard of put me as 120 days late for student loan.

 

Upon hearing this I paniced and paid the entire balance of 1K, which I should have negotiated with them before doing that.

 

Over the last several months, I have been writing the agencies stating that

a. I had so many different addresses I couldn't keep track of

b. Nelnet bought my loan and never sent me a single late notice - only junkmail and spam. and I can't help it if roommates dont forward me mail either

c. no calls, no mail no anything from anyone about this Nelnet loan

 

doubt I can get any credit due to this being a student loan AND 120 days late.

Eventually experian removed it, while the other two haven't. This is the only major ding on my report and all my scores are 700+, but this thing sucks because I never knew they existed.

 

any suggestions? pretty please.

PO Boxes are great for students who move around alot. Unfortunately you alone are responsible for maintaining your correct address with each loan holder/servicer. Even a post office forwarding does not suffice for them. Try a goodwill letter.
