I was at work yesterday and had a phone call from Dynamic Recovery Systems claiming they had been faxed over documents regarding an old CC balance. The lady was very, very rude and assumed I was going to just shell out the money and pay the alleged $2k old balance from 2001. She said it was from Applied Bank or something like that and that bank was no longer in business.

I kindly explained to her that alleged debt is almost 12 years old and she was trying to collect way outside the SOL. That really set her off and she wanted to know how I knew anything about the law, etc. The phone call didn't last much longer and said she would pass the info along to the original creditor that I was uncooperative and hatefully denied a payment arrangement or a PIF.

My next thought was now they are fixing to report something negative and have they already tried to pull my credit report. Sure enough, a checked EQ and there was a hard pull from Dynamic RS. I should have known from the start that was how they got my cell number.

So can dispute that inquiry off? I did not give permission and they are not my creditor so I don't know if that makes it eligible for a valid dispute. Plus, it is an alleged 11-12 year old debt, do I have a chance at removal?

TIA

File with the BBB in South Carolina, and check and see if the CFPB is overseeing CA's/JDB's yet and file with them
