Anyone have their regular military star card close their account for inactivity?

I recently relocated, there isn't a base within a two hour drive, I haven't used my card in six months...I know can buy something online but just curious if you can go a year without them closing it?

To be clear, you did not actually make any purchases during this time?

 

I found a solution...AAFES.com sells giftcards for various stores and restaurants...Even AAFES GC's themselves, so if you have fear like me that if you don't use the card every so often they'll close that big TL, buy a card gift as gifts for others for the holidays. The other solution which I don't want to do is to buy something online then return online.

My credit is shot...NEX card is the only one that didn't close. I have also gone long periods without using it...no problem.

From the STAR Card FAQ:

If I don’t use my account, will it be closed?

If you voluntarily close your account, are not
carrying a balance and do not reopen it within 90 days, or if your
account has not had any activity i.e., charges, payments or a balance
due for 90 days and you are separated from the military or lose your
privileges or sponsorship, it will be closed. Inactive accounts bear
increased risks of credit card fraud for our customers and are expensive
to maintain. Closing these accounts after 3 months(90 days) of
inactivity mitigates the risk of fraud and lowers operating costs that
can be passed on to customers in the form increased Morale Welfare and
Recreation dividends.
