Online World Entertainment Check Scam

I have a bank account I only kept around $10.00 in because I am considering closing it. I knew I had no recurring charges coming through, and I did not write any checks or use my debit card. I now have a negative balance of almost $100. due to a phony check for $29.95 going through. The check is made out to "Online World Entertainment" (typed out)

 

Where the signature should be it says "No Signature Required" and in smaller letters is says something like "your account has been authorized by you to..." (can't really read the rest of it.)There is no signature (or anything) on the back of the check.

 

So, I've called and written my bank (53) to have this taken care of. I have to go file an account dispute today. I am definitely going to close this account now, because if they have the gumption to do it once, you know they'll try it again.

 

Keep an eye on your accounts. (even the ones you're not using!)

Yeah, I've been reading all over the interwebs on this. I just thought I'd run it by you guys since you may have more knowledge of what to expect from my bank, etc.

Reason I ask is that seems to be the common theme.
