Mailbox Rental Address for Business - Yes or No?

I know this has been discussed numerous times, but after reading all the posts on this, there seems to be a lot of conflicting info. Some people say they use a mailbox rental company as their business address with no problems and others say many creditors red flag these addresses and not to use them. Right now I'm paying $120 a month for a virtual address, but I'm trying to cut back costs while still building my business credit. I don't want to use my home address because I'm already using that for another business.

 

Do you think changing my address to a mailbox rental address would hurt my ability to get business credit?

Don't do it. I used my home address and I have had no problems. I never offer info on it being at home. If asked I just say I have a home office.

I think a big misconception is that all virtual offices and mailboxes will get you flagged with DnB. That is not the case. I can only speak on virtual offices because I have used them. I have never used a mailbox. The only way you will get red flagged is if that address you plan to use has already been flagged. You can have a legitimate office space on 123 Boardwalk Blvd., but if that address has been red flagged your company will get red flagged as well.

Have your tried Regus? I have one in Mass. and it is only $60 per month.

I started using one because I had people coming to my house trying to sell stuff and everything else.
