Hi. I have 2 negative items on my Chexsystems report. 1 is for an NSF charge. I had closed my checking account but still had a savings (but the balance was ZERO). I forgot about an outstanding check that had been written 3 months earlier and had not been cashed yet. When it came through eventually, my checking account was closed and I received an NSF charge. The CU reported it on Chexsystems as NSF activity even though I cleared it up pretty quickly. mad.gif This was reported 7/04

I also have an "ACCOUNT ABUSE" reporting by BofA! mad.gif I wasnt trying to abuse the account. We had closed our account all together, but had several auto pays set to w/draw from the account and 2 of them were changed too close to the due dates, so they went through anyways. I closed the account at BofA in a rash moment of anger because I was unhappy with them over some other things. While I admit I should have not been so hasty to close all accounts, I did. I wasnt trying to abuse any system. There was no possible way to change all of the auto pays in time even though I called them all and tried. It was too close to the billing date for 2 of them. I talked to my BofA local CSRep at my local branch. they told me they would send me a bill for anything outstanding, but they wouldnt reopen the account to let things clear. Instead. they charged me overdraft fees and billed me for the 2 bills + fees and reported account abuse to Chexsystems. This was reported 10/05

I dont think I can really dispute these since they are legit situations that really happened. However, Account abuse is a little harsh. NSF activity would have been more fair. Anyways, this is seriously impeding my ability to open some accounts at some CU's I really want to belong to. Am I just screwed?

How long until these fall off my Chexsystems report? or will they ever?

Why on earth can't you dispute them? Your job isn't to just accept the damage is it?

That's why Psychdoc says to be honest when your disputing like "Please prove to me that this in fact my account by providing me with the document containing my original signature" something like that.

Don't just wait 5 years
