My aunt, who is co-signing a loan with me, which I REALLY need, wants to know if and when the loan will show up on her credit report. Shes planning on buying a car soon and will need to take out a loan, she really just wants to know if it will hurt her chances of getting the car or not. I'd also like to know if it will report on my credit report, her credit report, or both her credit report and mine. Thanks for the help in advance. If it helps any, we plan on getting the loan from one of these providers: Discover, Sallie Mae, Citibank, Chase, Wellsfargo.

A Co-Signer is there basically b/c it makes 2 (or 1) perhaps not so strong applicants join forces to get something, so if you default on your loan....they'll come after you first, and then her...she will become half responsible.

I have read several posts where they pursued the cosignor first because they had beter credit or more visible assets. And posts where they pursue both at the same time.
