 Well, this isnt exactly "biz" credit, but since it's for a biz vehicle.......

My biz is suffering some serious growing pains, and I need to add a second truck so I can work 2 crews at a time. Anyway, I found this guy who buys repos and estate vehicles for re-sale. He holds an independent dealers license. He has a 2001 Ford F-150 with 40,000 miles on it for $7500  . The cheapest I can find the same truck at a dealership is in the $13K to $15K range...with much more miles on it. This guys truck is an awesome deal. He even drove it across 2 counties to let my husband test drive it because DH couldnt find the time to get to this guy's place of biz. So, I called Household Auto to get pre-approved for a loan (chose them because ever since I got my HH MC they have been driving me crazy trying to get to me re-fi an auto). They approved me for $31,000 OR a max payment of $675. But, they won't cut a check to this guy because he's not a franchise dealer. :?: However, if he will post and sell the car on e-bay, they will cut him a check. WTF? I'm not a happy camper............ :)

I believe Ebay charges a flat fee for listin autos on Ebay.

If he doesn't have a clue how to list on Ebay there are peole called trading assistants that will list things for you for a fee. Shouldn't cost too much. A seller has to have a feedback rating of 10 or more or be ID verified to use Buy It Now to list.

Have him list the car with a Buy It Now price and then as soon as he lists the car , have him give you the auction ID number and go buy the car for the 7500.00 price.

It is veru easy to do and shouldn't tak e more than an hour of time. HAve him take one digital photo of the car and list it. It takes a while for listings to show up in regular listings once they are submitted, so if you know the auction id number you can just do a search for it by number and buy it before it ever hits the listings that the public sees.

If you need any help, send me a PM. It is easy and you can get your truck right away. Ask the dealer to split the Ebay fee.

I edited and added fees.

80.00 to sell the car.

It IS great stuff, huh? We are going to look at the truck again today and try to get the guy to list it on ebay. Do you know that Household overnighted me a blank check??? I have 2 weeks to find a truck up to $31,000 and use the check for purchase. Whatever I fill in will be my loan amount. I think THAT is a pretty cool way to go car shopping. :D

Not sure if this is the same thing, but if it is, be careful with the blank check, CHECK THAT INTEREST RATE. That blank check does something to ya. :) Crap1 did the same to DH for $26k -- got a blank check. They kept preapproving him a couple of times a year for over a year and sending us the paperwork. Finally, they peaked our curisoity and we called to find out the interest rate and for some reason no one could tell us what it would be. We couldn't believe DH would be preapproved for $26,000 and get a blank check without an interest rate assigned to the preapproval. Sooooo, we went to a Honda dealership and casually mentioned we were preapproved and they told us the interest rate was based on your FICO and told us that if its this then the interest rate is that. Dealer said the highest interest rate he dealt with was 29% on a preapproval!! We went home and read the paperwork and the interest rate for DH's would have been between 18% and 23%. Crap1 was treating the preapproval like a credit card so the interest rate could be pretty high. We didn't use it.

Whew! You gotta be walking to even consider taking that rate for a car! Ouch! Our rate is 7.9%. I guess thats kinda high, but I'll take it since I can make the purchase with ZERO outta pocket (except insurance). We plan to make lump payments while the seasonal (lawn care) cash is flowing so hopefully we can get it paid off either this season or next (depending on how much I hoard away for personal pleasures.....cruise to Mexico) Household was really very very easy about the whole thing. I might be back here complaining about them in the future, but for now, I'm pleased.
