3 stafford loans, about $14k total...consolidation?

I have 3 Stafford loans

 

1) Principal: $1,467.17

Interest: 6.62% variable

 

2) Principal: $6,625.00

Interest: 6.62% varibale

 

3) Principal: $6,102.00

Interest: 6.80% variable

 

All are in deferrment until 6/2008.

 

 

I've heard Citi is a choice...anyone else have a company that they would recommend? If rates are higher than what mine are at, is there a way to keep my lower rate or....? Sorry, new to the consolidation thing!!

Nobody will be higher....all federal consolidation interest rates are based on a weighted average of what you currently have. Some lenders offer back end perks such as interest rate reductions for auto drafts or on time payments.
