Is this a student loan?

I went to Mesa State College for part of a semester in 1996 or 1997 I cant really remember but it was probally in 96.

 

I did not ever recieved an official loan I just owed the college some tuition.

The amount was 28$$.00 It is listed only on my TU report.

 

It is listed twice once as MESA STATE COLLEGE

and once as STATE OF COLORADO GHC (what is GHC?)

Is it true that a school loan never goes out of statute?

Will this ever fall off my report?

I don't think this is a student loan. I think this is a collection for the tuition and it should be past SOL, so you should be able to get it removed.

Most likely it is simply tuition that is owed and not a student loan.

Thanks for answering so rapidly.

 

I know I never appied for any loan so that must be the case.

 

 

And this tution owed is just like owing any other business. (sol, reorting period, exc.)

 

And is it true that an official student loan stays with you forever?

 

Plus any idea who State of Colorado GHC is?

 

And I guess it is safe to try to get it off early. I have ofter been scared of disputing info on my CR because I have never been contacted by a creditor and 7 years ago I went into defalt and collection on about 8 accounts mostly cc. I have had a perfect record since and my scores are statrting to show this last month.

 

Almost a 100 point increase with each CRA in less than 30 days with out a singe dispute.

 

Maby i shoud just keep doing what I am doing.
