April 2005 hubby was in a fairly serious car wreck. had to be transported to hospital by ambulance. We contacted a lawyer, but due to a turnaround in staff our account was dealt with rather slowly at first. By Oct/Nov of that year CA was calling hot and heavy. We had already notified OC of the attorneys contact info, and gave same to CA. CA began calling me at work even and threatening garnishment. This was the middle of the turnaround for attorney so they were not returning our calls and we were unable to get advice from them. SO reluctantly we made arrangements to pay account in full. Already had one garnishment and especially since I worked for an atty REALLY didn't need another one.

Ended up sending letter to attn of firms leading partner requesting immediate response/resolution regarding our wreck. THEN a month too late they say, no do not pay CA, not your responsibility. We knew it wasnt our responsibility but felt there was no other choice.

So now case is closed, yep took 2 1/2 years, and our reimbursement for paying that acct was part of settlement. However, it sits as yet another medical acct on our CR that we do not need. We have enough from other situations.

How should we handle this? As rude and unethical as the CA was to begin with, I'm not sure contacting them will do any good at all.

Wish I had found CB a long time ago!! But working on repairing things now.

Any advice??
