Sallie Mae policy on RE-AGING

Does anyone know if Sallie Mae will re-age an account?

 

Been paying on time for years and had an issue receving my statement and did not make a payment for 2 mos. Wow, it sent my fico score down 75 points to 655 and Im getting heat from my other creditors. Wasnt a financial issue just a logistical issue.

Sallie Mae is required by law to report accurately. The borrower is responsible for making the payments even if they do not receive a statement. They also generally do not report until you are 60 days late.

Unless you can prove servicing error, not getting a statement generally doesn't qualify, but you might get lucky. Sallie Mae does have an ombudsman, ombudsman@salliemae.com You really do have to prove your case though. Good luck.
