I wonder if it's smart to load all of my banking information from other banks etc into the BOA portfolio feature. Can they see what's in there? And if so, do they use it to snoop on us?

BofA uses Yodlee.com's services. You can get the same set-up direct from their site. I use them, though there are certainly risks to weigh before giving out all your passwords to one site like that. If you search this forum for yodlee you should get some more info about them.

I checked the fine print on that and I think they can "share" the info with affiliates. No way I want them bothering me and telling me what great things they could do with my money if I'd just take it out of Schwab and Edward Jones and invest with them.

One interesting site for storing and analyzing portfolio information is http://www.riskgrades.com. They have all my info and have never bothered me with spanm or other marketing efforts.

If you sign up directly through Yodlee.com (it's the same thing, but a newer version, almost like a beta product) your info won't be shared because Yodlee does not offer financial products.

I use My Portfolio and love it. I should add that I don't care what they know. I can opt out with them and their partners if I get nervous. I like preapproved offers - the more the better.

Does anyone know what Yodlee/BofA's policies are if their computers get hacked or something terrible happens? I know that Microsoft Money uses that same system. I would think that would be a nightmare to have every single account comprised at the same time.
