Closed loans reporting as open on TU, not on EX,EQ

I have several closed student loans that are reporting as open on TU. They have long since been purchased or consolidated. The sure mess up my DTI. Should I dispute with CU or with SLAs? Incidently Nelnet has conveniently reporting their address as one of my home addresses.

You should try disputing it with the CRA and then if you get nowhere, contact the lender.

The broker who pulled our credit said it might hurt more than it would help to have them report as closed instead of open.....do you think that is true?

Not necessarily. It could impact your DTI to have them showing as open though.

 

My experience with installment loans is that they seem to have minimal impact when they close ... when they're current ... and when they first report. Their sting comes with a late.
