Student Loan Consolidation

Can anyone give me advise on how or for that matter if there is a way to consolidate my State student loan. Any information on what I could do regarding this would be helpful. They may start to take my taxes and I have a daughter, I can't afford for that to happen. But, when I pull my credit report the amounts on them are all different for EQ, TU, and EQFX. I have consolidated all my other loans.

 

Is a State loan different? Do different rules apply?

Who is holding your loan?? If you are talking about of the state guarantey agencies, these are FFELP loans and can be consolidated with Federal loans.

That would probably be American Student Assistance. Can you get more info?? An attorney is simply collecting on behalf of someone else, which is probably ASA. Have they already filed a judgement against you???

Yes, but I had NO idea I was being taken to court.

Judgement accounts are difficult to consolidate but not impossible. You will have to talk to the attorney handling it to agree to lift the judgement. However you will be required to pay legal fees and court costs up front as those cannot be included in the consolidation.
