I thought that I would have a go at disputing an old medical bill (sent to NCO for collection) with experian. It was reported like this:

 

Account Name: NCO FIN/55

Account Number: 8626XXXX

Acct Type: Collection Department / Agency / Attorney

Acct Status: Closed

Monthly Payment:

Date Open: 11/1/2003

They (EX) had already deleted two other things using online disputes (2 very old NSF checks for 27 and 36 dollars), so I thought...what the heck. I submitted the online dispute on 12/25/05 as not mine. 5 minutes ago (3:16am eastern time, 1/10/06) I received notification that they had finished their "investigation". I logged in and IT WAS FREAKING DELETED!!!!!!!! I can not believe it. I am so excited... I am going to copy and paste in this message the info on the page saying it is deleted:

WAAAA HOOO!!! I could never thank all of you enough for all the information let alone the confidence boosts I get here daily to continue this battle. I have not checked my fico yet (I dont need food...just fico ) but I will tomorrow.

P.S. I still have 3 online disputes with TU out now (disputed on 12/26/05) and TC states 1 of 3 have been investigated but I guess I won't be able to see the results until all 3 are done. I'll keep you posted!!!!!

 

P.S.S. I have already opted out around 3 weeks ago and disputed old addresses. Does anyone think that this can be re-inserted? Is this likely? All my reports show that my file is blocked for promotional purposes.
