I have received bills for a covered treatment on my insurance. I tried calling the oc no avail. then in aprilof this year long before cb i got collection letters- i thought they were inaccurate and ignored (uhduh r e t a r d) them- so i then find cb and start cleaning up my report- i send dv to them- they sent me a printout from their screens which showed what my treatment was for. i then called (again was a newbie) and advised them that was my private medical info- they said so in michigan hippa doesn't protect from that. i questioned my ins why they denied this portion after i was told 3 times it was fully covered- they "apologized" for the miss information and even saw i had questioned it but i had a 10$ copay per visit for 10 visits (phys therapy).. so now knowing whether ethically or not but the debt was mine- i wanted to pay it. planned on duing a hippa letter from why chat with payment in full but before i could do it i rec'd a bill from the oc.

how can the ca bill me and report it but the oc still bill me?

appreciate any help and sorry so long. i want to get this deleted asap as it is reporting as a "new" collection therefore scores are tanked usa!

well no one responded but just in case someone else runs into to this i thought i would help-

i called oc- they said they took it back from the ca in july when i made payments on other accounts and my ins advised them i was disputing the amount- set up payment plan and paid first installment.

called ca- explained situation- he called to verify my story and called me back to state he was mailing me a delete letter that day. should have tomorrow-

moral of story for me- start with oc and work outward...(advise offered before and not taken until i was able to get two ca's deleted in one day on my report.)
