Good luck to all. WaMu is one of the most predatory and litigious home mortgage lenders out there.

Hopefully for the sake of Providian cardholders, customer service for the cards will remain with the old Providian and not move to the current WaMu reps.

Ewww thanks for the tip, I was planning on letting the card see the sock drawer when the new citi cards come in anyway. I will just do the wait and see thing only charging 20 once every couple of months just enough to keep the CL open.

My BF mother who was in banking said she hated WAMU, but that was because of the people that went to WAMU after First Interstate close, wonder if there was more to what she was trying to tell me ?

I like Wamu, but I only bank with them and thats it! Not trying to get a Providian card anyway. I just hope the latest round of disputes I sent out last night will result in the old Providian TLs falling off.

Our mortgage is with WAMU unfortunately, but we've not had any problems with them. Been with them 3 years technically (it started out as North American Mortgage Company I believe, then switched). I keep a close eye on our payments to them and our tax/insurance disbursements. An article in Smart Money magazine a couple years back had some really negative things to say about WAMU (the families that used them had homes foreclosed on (or threatened) when WAMU failed to make property tax payments, etc).. So, I try to stay a bit on the up & up with them.

No CC's w/Providian though. I hope the best for the Providian customers though, from what I've read, both sides are equally vicious :)
