CA has 2 med accounts, both small amounts. Question is, instead of going the HIPPA route, do you think I could just call and ask for a PFD?

I recently disputed online and some other med accounts CA had came off, so I am not sure if going this route would energize their effort to collect on these other accounts. The accounts that were disputed off w/ cra dispute are much larger than the 2 I have left to get rid of.

Any input would be awesome.

I have yet to have any success with the HIPAA route. If I could do it all over again, I would likely just go the PFD letter route. If the goal is to increase your FICO score most expediently ... my experience would tell me that it may be the way to go. That is just my two cents worth anyway. :-)

Thanks, I am definitely interested in the most expedient route! Anyway, what do you think about offering a PFD when they are also holding appx. 6 other accounts in my name that were just recently deleted w/ CRA dispute? Atleast 2 or 3 are still w/in SOL!!

Before my famaliarity with whychat's hippa and other healthcare letters I crafted a check to the original creditor, a hospital. They cashed it and then my plan was to dispute the NCO trade line for the debt. I pulled a new credit report and found that the NCO trade line was disputed. I never had any contact with NCO and I believe that makes a big difference.

The HIPPA letter on whychat's site is excellent. I am about to take a stabe at it. Good luck and Godspeed.

If you are prepared to pay for them and seek a PFD, and you have had no contact with the third party, then why not use HIPPA letter (whychat's)? In another post I noted that, prior to my research, I paid some medical debts that had been reported by a third party CA. I sent checks to the original providers (O.C.) and within a short period of time I found the trade lines previously reported by CAs had disppeared.

While this may seem like a short cut, and may well work, I would follow whychat's HIPPA route as it is more reliable and stays well within the law.
