$75 Medical Bill that Isnt Me!!

Hey Everyone,

Let me first say I'm soo glad to find this board and now for the first time putting back together the battered pieces of my credit. I just ran my Equifax report....576!! YUCK!

 

The first thing to jump out at me was a medical bill from 3 months ago...i have never been to this hospital. I received a $75 bill from a collection agency and called them, saying this isnt me, someone used my name. They tried to get to verify my ss# and date of bith. I refused and they told me what they had on file....it was all wrong. They had my name and my last address, i have moved since then. I didnt bother to go forward in fighting it, since i thought with incorrect info they would never be able to tie this to my credit...i was wrong!

You need to go to WhyChat's HIPPA letter. I think it's insertion c(?), but read the letter first. You want to dispute it with the OC as NOT YOURS.
