Well this is my situation. I have loans through College Foundation that were really kicking my butt while I was out of work, so I had them postponed for 6 months. Well now I've finally got a good job, but the payment is behind a month. Can I still consolidate my loans even though I'm a month behind? And if so, who is the best company to do that with. I am constabntly getting mail from the Federal loan Cosolidation Department. Now that I am making pretty good money, I can make payments, but consolidating them and making cheaper payments would really help my bottom line. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, you can consolidate even if you're a month behind, but I can't tell you who would be best to consolidate with ... you'll have to do some research and decide who offers you the best deal. I don't know, also, if it will lower your payments, as the interest rate just went up this month.

Good luck!
