My wife and I recently closed a loan for a new home with Shane Milne (screen name "liverichly" on CreditBoards) and I just wanted to leave my testimonial... Our loan was far from standard or easy. I'm self employed. My wife works off tips. Plus we already own another property (which is severely underwater). While others said this loan couldn't be done, Shane was able to find a way to make it happen! Not only did Shane get our loan done, he also got us great terms and a great interest rate. We are now settled in our new home and couldn't be happier. Shane is an extremely effective communicator and kept us in the loop every step of the way. I've received emails from Shane as early as 6AM and as late as 12:25AM so he seems to be working hard all hours of the day and night. Our local Realtor was also highly impressed with Shane and said he was one of the most "on-the-ball" and professional loan officers she's worked with in all her years in the business. She says she definitely wants to work with him again in the future. I have to admit that in the beginning of the process I was a little concerned about using a mortgage guy outside of my local area, however, it turned out not to be an issue at all. Instead of being stuck with an average loan officer in my area, I was able to use one of the nations top loan officers (Shane) who was able to get us the best possible loan for our situation. As far as I know Shane can do loans in every state so I highly recommend you contact him (screen name "liverichly") for your loan needs. NOTE TO SHANE: Thanks again Shane for all of your hard work! Although we plan on being in our new home for years to come, we'll certainly refer our family and friends in need of mortgages in the future.

I want to apply for a couple of business credit cards (and having to do a PG is okay with me). My thinking behind opening the first couple of accounts with PG is that since my personal scores are in the 700s it should help me qualify for the business credit cards and getting those business cards (with PG) should beef up my business credit and help me be able to get cards without the PG quicker than building it only with accounts without the PG. Is my thinking correct? Does anyone have any recommendations of business cards with PG (if they pull TU that is best since that is my highest score). Thanks in advanced!

So I got a letter in the mail today from hooters mastercard

I too received the rate jack and annual fee notice (as did my wife). I can't decide if paying the $4 per month is worth it for the $8000 tradeline? I have about 60K in revolving credit total and normally carry about a 12K balance. Do any of you FICO experts know the approximate impact on a my credit score if I were to close the 8K Hooters account bringing my total credit down to around 52K? I'm not sure if it would have almost no impact, bring down the score just a couple of points, or something more massive. -
Do you think it would do any good to go to the companies I purchased from directly and ask if they've reported my order to DNB, or won't they be able to give out that information? Thanks again!
-
So the name of the business never actually appears on the report? That's a bummer as it will make things much harder to keep track of!

I recently started building my biz credit and so far 3 companies have started to report on my DNB file, however, I can't figure out how to determine which companies are the ones reporting since I don't see company names anywhere, just their industry. For example: Payment By Industry: 1 Telephone communictns 1 50 50 100 - - - - 2 Whol durable goods 1 50 50 100 - - - - 3 Whol electrical equip 1 0 0 - - - - - Is there a way to determine which companies are reporting (since I've ordered similar items for similar amounts from more than one company in the same industry)? Thanks in Advance!

Thanks Wolf, I did order from Reliable so that's good to know. Does the 30 (or 10) days start from when the product was ordered, when it shipped, or when it was delivered? Thanks again!
-
I recently ordered items from a handful of places on Net 30 terms (all the usual places that I found here on CB). All of the items I ordered have now been delivered, however, only 1 company (Quill) has sent me my invoice to pay. I was under the impression that my invoices would arrive with the product, however, this hasn't been the case. Do invoices normally arrive later in the mail or I need to contact each company to find out how to pay them? Thanks in advanced!

When I try to sign up for Chaseidentityprotection dot com it requests an OFFER ID. Does anyone have one? Also, I just tried logging into my Privacy Matters account and I can't login. Is anyone else having that problem?

I filed CH 7 back in 2001. Shortly after filing I received a Providian credit card with a $200 limit. This was the only credit card I opened for two years after the BK. Forward to today... I've cleaned up my credit (thanks to Credit Boards) and my scores are now in the 700's. Most of my credit lines today are between $1500 and $10,000. Should I close my old Providian card with the $200 limit? I've read that closing low limit cards helps your score... But I also know that closing my oldest account could hurt my score. What does everyone think?

Anyone else have any experience with this issue?

Was that on the GM Card? Did you use the Luv Button or a phone request?

I've been reading all of the credit union threads over the past couple of days and I seem to have come across conflicting information to this question... Does (checking or savings) account usage at a credit union (I have PenFed and Patalco but I'm asking as a general rule of thumb) influence their decison when deciding to issue a credit card or loan product? In other words... If I have a FICO of 725 and I've been a member of a credit union with $50 in a checking or savings account that I haven't used, am I less likely to get approved for a credit card or loan then if I had the same FICO but had a more active account? If account usage doesn't influence approval, does it influence terms, rates or limits on the card or loan the credit union provides?

When I clicked the Luv Button on my GM Card it asked for my permission to review my credit report. Does this mean it will be a hard pull? I know my other HSBC cards don't do a hard pull with the Luv Button, but they also don't ask my permission to review my credit. Does anyone know for sure in GM Card does a hard pull for credit line increases? I clicked cancel and am waiting until I find out for sure before proceeding. Thanks
