  1. I thought I was going to close this week, well, that went out the window. Another delay in that the title company decided that they want a survey. GRRR this could take two weeks to a month is not longer. Is it to early for wine?
  2. I am. I shouldve closed tomorrow but it has been pushed back due to flood zone stuff.

    Problem

I have learned a lot about this flood stuff. The agent has paid for a elevation certificate-the house is 40+ feet above the water and 300+ feet back from the river. She has submitted this to the bank to see if they will waive the flood insurance (from zone A to zone C). This approval has to be done prior to the closing-at least this is what I am being told.

    Problem

Ok here is my problem, I have been approved, found a home which I love, the appraisal come back good ect the kicker is that the bank found this home to be in a flood zone which was not disclosed before. I called and told the agent this she claims she did not know. Am I in a position to argue the price of the home due to the flood zone (A) which the flood insurance will be twice what the home owners insurance will be? Never mind the though of re-sale value. I know I have ground to break the contract.
  6. I haven’t been back in a little while but I did mail out that second DV letter and just opened a letter that stated from AFINI that they will no longer be pursuing this debt and will be requesting it be removed from my credit reports. Guess I got lucky
  7. Thank you.
  8. I am very interested in the 2ed DV letter. Today I received a response from AFINI (an old Cingular account) with their idea of a validation which was a copy of the last page of the last bill dated 03/08/04 and it shows the balance due.
  9. I will pull the reports in 30 days to see. I wish I had the daily pull service, but I will wait. I am very happy that it worked. I have learned so much from reading here-thank you all for your help. I just hope the rest is as smooth as that was.
  10. Happy Dance day-my first DV worked I received a letter from AFINI stating that they are requesting that AFINI be removed from my credit reports Thank you all for the help you have given me. I am off to mail out the next round.
  11. Another question is I am sure I know the answer but I need to check with someone who has more knowledge about this then I do. AFINI is listed on EQ, At&t is listed of Tu and EX both are the same account number and same amount, is if safe to say that AFINI owns the account? If I were to guess I would say AFINI is the owner, but if they are the owner then why is At&t reporting on the other two? Very confusing and frustrating. Thank you for your help-please let me know your thoughts (even if its "this lady is nuts"
  12. According to the green card they received it on July 20, 2009. I never received anything from them, I looked (very organized I still have bills from seven years ago that have been filed according to year and month-yup its sick I know). Houston Funding has called, but I have not answered or called them back. I want them to show me how this debit is mine which would make me responsible for it.
  13. I am not sure what that means.
  14. I mailed off and received the delivery confirmation to two different Collection companies; I never received anything from these companies so I am working on the information on my credit report. One being Houston Funding and the other AFINI, I have not received anything back from them. In fact Houston Funding has been calling in an attempt to collect. I do not answer my phone-bit nothing in the mail from either company. Do I have to send a second DV letter or can I request from the CRA to delete them by forwarding my DV letter and delivery confirmation (copies of course)? Another question unrelated to my first question, I have one 30 day late on my student loans. What is the chance of a GW letter working? Thank you, Rebecca
  15. yes capital one owns the account
