+1 I see this screen from time to time. It often rotates with the refer a friend promotion. It states I am pre-approved for the platinum, green, and Platinum Delta Skymiles (currently have Zync).

When you say that you notice pre-approvals right when you log in, does that mean a window pops up or something? Not immediately after login. Normally, when I select 'Additional Cards' from the Account Summary page and then select 'Apply for Another Card', I can see the 'You're Pre-Approved' Box next to the 'View All Cards' box. If I click on it, I can see that I am pre-approved for the Green and Platinum cards. I can also click on View All Cards, and the Green and Platinum cards will be highlighted with 'Pre-approved' above them.

But then I will have two AFs and one will be sockdrawered because the Gold has the better rewards. Not to mention it won't be worth an AAOA hit! hmm...I wonder if I do I add a new if it will be backdated to 1/10 since I was approved on 12/10? If you upgrade AMEX will only make you pay the difference, and if you get a NEW card yes it should be backdated to the 1/10 because the back dated year stays the same, but they put the month of the new approval Thanks romecoo, will it be a new pull as well for an upgrade? If you got an offer via mail, YES it will be a new pull, but if you log into your online account and it says you are approved to "UPGRADE" to either a Gold or Platinum it will not be a pull, and I confirmed that with a CSR and also believe I read it here somewhere before! well when I log in to my account and click on additional cards I see this: Is that what you mean or would it say approved to upgrade somewhere else? If so does this mean I can upgrade to any of those or am I pushing my luck? when I log in to mine and go to cards i see the same thing you are seeing, but mine says "pre-approved" right above the platinum and gold card... My gf when she logs into her account right on the first page it always says You are "PRE-APPROVED" for the platinum card just click to accept... I think hers is slightly different than ours and hers definitely wont be a hard pull but ours probably will be. I have logged in on occasions and seen pre-approvals for the platinum and green cards (I currently have a zync that I opened in Oct. '10). One time I even logged in to a Delta Platinum Skymiles pre-approval. They are definitely inconsistent and I recall reading somewhere that the pre-approvals tend to rotate with Amex promos. Not sure, but maybe someone else can confirm. Also, to the OP, you can see the verbiage "pre-approved" if you view all cards above the cards you are pre-approved for. Hope this helps.

This is my 3rd attempt. The last time I tried was for the green card back in March.

I'm still in shock, but in any case...I decided to pull the trigger since I've seen alot of recent success in getting the zync card. Experian is definitely not clean. FAKO is 683. One settled citi account from March of this year and one capital one account 120 days late a year and a half ago.

I paid over the phone (pre-CB) and requested that they delete and sure enough, they did. Also sent me a letter to that effect. Maybe you caught a rep on a bad day. I would keep trying. They aren't very tough to beat.

So I decided to join a CU or two since I'm tired of dealing with banks. I chose a local CU and Alliant and apped with the local CU (only a soft on EX). I received an invitation to apply for a Visa so I decided to give it a shot. Apped online for $4000 and get a message that I was approved pending finalization done by a LO. I got the call today for paystubs so I'm going to fax tomorrow. Hopefully this is an approval. Next, decided to open an Alliant account a few weeks ago. Took the hard on EQ. Decided, wth, and applied for the Visa on Friday. I got an email from a LO today telling me to contact him regarding my app. Thought for sure it was a denial. Haven't seen a new pull on EQ over the past couple of days, so I figured oh well at least I didn't waste a pull. Got home and logged on Skybranch to check the status...APPROVED! $2500 limit. I'm so happy that my credit is on the road to recovery and it's all thanks to this board. I'm freezing my reports since I don't plan on apping anymore until I decide to shop for a new car in a couple years. Thanks CB!

The only other time I disputed was last month online as never late.
