  1. That's what I was thinking!!!!
  2. Youch.... I've had a Honda loan for about a year now and I haven't heard a peep from them. I estimate that I'm currently two months ahead in payments, so, I get those zero notices all the time. I guess, based upon your experience, I'll make sure they continue to get a payment every month regardless.
  3. Been there....done that......and all I got for my trouble was having to pay for a car I didn't need. There's already been some great advice given. My kid pulled the same stunt. Had me co-sign a car that he made about 8 payments on before he decided that he didn't want it. He went out and bought a cash car he "really" wanted and left the one I co-signed for in my driveway. Three years later, after he'd moved halfway across the country he starts belly-aching to me about needing a car and his inability to get financing since by now, he's trashed his credit and had another car he "thought" he wanted repossessed.
  4. I was looking over some sites thinking of seeing if i could refinance at that rate, but upon talking to a couple of people, it seems that those people getting those rates either have excellent primo credit or they're buying down the rate. I thought that I would be able to lower my payment by about $100 monthly, but not in the way of having to come off >$7000 to close. Currently I'm sitting at 6.5%, 28 yr, $163,000. Am I only dreaming that that 5.5% might be doable for me?
  5. My mortgage is serviced by them also. You wouldn't think they would be near BK by all the junk mail they send me trying to get me to refinance and such. I was a little miffed that they refused to give me a CC I wanted to use to do some BT's with.
  6. From this which we lived in for 13 years...... Here's a couple of pics of my baby. 4 BR 3.5 Bath Both Formals Gameroom 3500 sq. ft. $210,000
  7. Daaaaayyyyuuuuummmmmmmmmmm!!!!! I couldn't sleep at night if I had that much CC debt.
  8. Tried getting a car loan from them at that 5.99% rate in April. the best they wanted to do for me was 10.99%. Walked into a Honda dealership and AHF financed me at 6%. I wouldn't burn to many inquiries trying to get a cheaper rate on my own.
  9. I got this offer this past weekends and pulled the trigger on it. I was in the system for an $1400 CLI, so , now my CL stands on that account at $8400. I asked could I get a higher CL, but she said I'd have to go through underwriting to see what more I could get. In talking with the lady, in the system I was already pre-approved for one of the BOA Business Rewards credit cards that had a 0% interest for 9 months. Pulled the trigger on that and added another $7000 for my trouble. Going to do a BT from my CITI accounts to the Business rewards to take advantage of that 0%, then BT from my AMEX and BOA AAA account back to CITI to take advantage of a 3.9% for 12 month offer. Consolidating to save a few bucks by having my balances on cards with lower APR's.
  10. Well.... I wouldn't even do it again for my kid. I was one of those people who this "good deed" turned around and burnt me. He had two credit cards he was paying consistently on for a year and a half, disappeared for about a month, then came home all apologetic. Had an not his fault accident in one car, hydro-locked another, and was in need of a car he said he needed for going to college. So, off we go to the local dealership and I cosign for a late model car he'd picked out that he initially thought he wanted. I knew when I put my name on that dotted line that it would come back to bite me....and bite it did. Two weeks after I co-sign for the car he takes a 1500 mile airplane trip to hang out with some friends he'd met online and a couple of months later, decides he doesn't want to go to school. The writing is on the wall.......... Ten months later, he didn't like that car, didn't want to pay the note, and had went and bought an older, more ragged sports car for cash and promptly dropped the other off in our driveway with only a few days before the payment was due. I was livid and if I wanted to save my credit, I was now saddled with a third two and a half year car note I didn't need nor want. Get this all..... After I'd finally got all three of the cars paid off, he approaches me to co-sign for another as that sports car he'd wanted so bad had fallen apart. I will NEVER co-sign on a car for anybody ever again.
  11. I bought one of those a few months ago. They are nice little cars aren't they!!!! Congratulations...... While you beat my deal on the frontside by about $700 dollars, I think you got hosed a little bit on the financing, especially if it included any of the warranty products they push on the backside. I squeezed that F&I guy and his manager until their eyes about popped out and got 6.1% at John Eagle in Houston. But the more important thing is happiness with whatever deal you walk away with and the car. Hope you enjoy yours as much as my wife is enjoying hers.
  12. Mine was updated last November...and I promptly put the card where it belonged.....in an envelope wrapped with socks.
  13. I got a call with someone asking if I'd be interested in a rate reduction. But I couldn't get them to tell me which company they were calling from. they wanted to play twenty questions with me about balances I have on my cards, didn't want to reciprocate any information, so I hung up on them.
  14. Got mine upgraded last year. REceived card in November. Just checked my account and it's still sitting at $1K. Therefore it will continue to sit in the sock box.
  15. About a month ago I applied online for a Cap1 blank check online and got approved for $37K @ 11%. I went and picked out my car and was approved by Honda Financial @ 6.1%. I'd guess that it made a difference in how much I was actually asking to be financed as I only financed $18K. I'd take that approval to the dealer and see if he can beat it. They're sure to have a lot more pull with their financing partners than any individual would.
