I just made my 7th payment on my car. I bought this car before I found this forum. Needless to say, my credit was awful. I financed it thru Drive and got a wonderful (yeah...right!) interest rate of 18.9%. For those of you who really don't know what 18.9% interest means......my car payment was $285. $120 of that $285 went toward principal, $165 of that $285 was INTEREST! To be honest, I kinda felt that I deserved to have to pay that kind of interest rate (since my credit WAS my own fault). I figured I would just wade thru this punishment to the end. WELLLLL, approx. 1 month after buying that car, I found this forum. I started at that point to read, read and read. Ya' know this place really becomes addicting! My credit has improved tremendously after taking advice from many people, right here. As of around 10:00 am today, my car is now refinanced with a local bank at........ 8.75% and went from a 60 month loan to a 36 month loan! It was soooo good not to be denied or screwed over! I feel so GOOD! My daughter is 20 years old and for the last couple of months, I have used things I have read on this forum to.....preach (for lack of a better word) just how important her knowledge of credit is. So to all of you members with good credit and bad (I've learned alot fom both) who post here, I APPRECIATE YOU!

Whychat, I want to sincerely thank you for all the time and effort you put into trying to help people like myself! As of today, ALL of my medical collections are gone! I would not know you if you walked up and spoke to me, but I can say I highly recommend anyone needing help with credit to take your advice. You helped guide me thru my credit repair process and your advice worked! Thru my learning experience, I can honestly say it is work to repair credit and I will continue to treasure my credit. Thank you soooo very much!

Am I blind or something????

Nope, I update it each day. Religiously. LOL -
Okay, paid medical collections. Opted out. Sent 1st round of Hippa letters. Equifax deleted, Trans and Exp. didn't. Then sent the next letter to the CA. Simply got back a print out of my payments...nothing else. I then sent the 2nd letter to Trans. and Exp. stating I didn't get a response from the CA. I received a response from TransUnion dated August 1st. It said: Thank you for contacting TransUnion. Our goal is to maintain complete and accurate information on consumer credit repoarts. We have provided the information below in response to your request. Re: Dispute Status - UNKNOWN #-------- Based on the information provided to TransUnion, our records show that the information you disputed does not currently appear on your TransUnion credit report. It then goes on with the General policy...blah, blah, blah. Okay, I check my reports EVERYDAY using TrueCredit...which is thru TransUnion. Is it safe to assume if these accounts that I disputed are still on that report I see everyday that they are STILL on my credit report? Do I need to send them a copy of the letter with a copy of their letter to them and demand that they delete the accounts, since they admit they aren't suppose to be on there???

All of my collections are paid. I sent the CRA the intial letter. Equifax deleted, Experian and Tranunion remain. I get the actual results from Experian stating the collections remain. I then send the next letter to the CA. I get the card and a "payment" statement from the CA nothing else all on the same day. Just a statement showing my payments and dates they were paid and the hospital name. My question is this.... the letter I now send to the CRA says that I have disputed this unknown medical account with the reporting CA (copy enclosed with proof of the receipt) and have had no response. I actually did get a response, but of course none of the items I demanded in the letter. Can I proceed with my letter to the CRA as planned as though I didn't get a response?

Paid Medical Collections

WOOOO HOOOO! Whychat...YOU ROCK! I had 16 paid medical collections. My 1st round of letters, I only included 6 accounts. I received a response from Transunion stating they had verified the accounts, I haven't gotten anything from Experian yet, but I updated my reports and the 6 accounts I started with are GONE from Equifax! I am ecstatic! Thanks sooooo much for your help! Now I'm off to send my next 6 accounts off to Equifax. I do have a question....I have it in my head it would be best to wait until I get my results from Experian before I attack the CA with a letter since it's the same CA reporting on both Transunion and Experian. Does this make sense??? -
Paid Medical Collections

I really can't thank you enough Why Chat for your help! I'm sending out my 1st letter to TransUnion today and will post my results here. Hopefully, the accounts will get deleted, if not, I'll probably ask again about the second step just for reassurance, so thanks so much for your help and patience! -
I have several paid medical collections. I've read many post and I think this is my solution. Opt out Delete old addresses if possible Send Eq and Ex the medical dispute letter http://whychat.5u.com/hipaadisp.html If the account "remains" and is not deleted, send the reporting CA this: http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html IF they are showing a "balance due" on your reports, or THIS http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html#PAID If they are showing it as a paid collection account In EITHER of the above cases, send the CRA's this, ( as soon as you have the green card back) http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html#DISPUTE However, my question is this....does the 30 day rule apply? I mean when I send the intial dispute does the CRA still have the normal 30 + 5 days to respond? Then if I have to resort to sending the CA a letter, do they then also have the 30 + 5 days to respond? Another question....about "In EITHER of the above cases, send the CRA's this, ( as soon as you have the green card back)" does this refer to after I have sent the intial letter to the CRA, debt isn't deleted and have sent letter to CA? In other words, just as soon as I have sent the letter to the CA and received the green card back, I immediately send the CRA the next letter, not waiting on the CA to respond? Sorry for my confusion and any help would be greatly appreciated!
