Anyone ever been denied a job due to your consumer credit?
Kmk81975 replied to Joe Schmoe's topic in Credit Forum
I was denied TWO jobs because of my credit about 3 years ago. The first was at one of the huge insurance companies to be a claims adjustor and the second was at a huge bank to be a customer service phone rep. -
I received a letter from NCO Financial letting me know they're collecting on a debt for CIGPF I Corp, they're listed on my report as SST. I'm definitely within SOL for a couple more years, it's for $1325.40 (which is much higher than it should be). I don't have nearly enough cash on hand to pay it off. Should I DV it anyway? What other option is there? It's either 1. DV & hope they can't 2. DV & get sued, or find it's a valid debt & pay it off or 3. do nothing and let it sit on my report and kill my score until I can pay it. Right?

Pulled TC this morning and ten were added on going back a full two years.

I have a couple different accounts listed and honestly I’m wondering if they are duplicates? The amounts are so similar, even the dates are similar and they’re bothreporting very negatively. BUT I’m not sure and I’m afraid to ask them because I’m still within SOL and don’t want to annoy them or make them “notice†me and sue (I haven’t been contacted by them in a while). Any advice? Thanks! 1. I was almost going to post a similar thing! My CK score went down 139 points from yesterday! 635 to 496! Freaked me out, so I bought my real FICO & it was 649, so I feel a little better. -
Looking for a little advice please. I have two SST accounts, both derogatory, both kind of old and both killing my scores. I tried disputing them a few times, but they keep coming back verified. I tried Jack’s method, but they still came back verified. I don’t want to DV because they’re still within SOL & I don’t want to get sued. Any ideas? I can’t PFD because I don’t really have that much extra cash lying around. 1. I sent a PFD, then sent me a DV

IT WORKED! I sent the letter that WhyChat said to along with the check to the OC (hospital) and the collection is off my credit report! My score went up 30 points! Thank you!!! -
I searched for a similar topic and didn't find one. I have student loans that were consolidated & rehab'd, but they were reporting wrong on my credit reports. Well I got all the lates off on TU & my score dropped 20 points! Nothing else changed, no dates, nothing else deleted, nothing added - about 20 lates were deleted and my score dropped 20 points. Does that make sense? The lates were between 5-6 yrs old, would that make a difference? (They are TrueCredit FAKO scores, does that make a difference?) Thanks!

I have a medical collection with a CA for $34 that was a total mistake, anyway, I sent them a PFD letter & they sent me a DV letter in return with no mention of PFD'ing. Should I call them? Send another letter? Pay it off and try a GW letter? I don't want to pay them off and then lose that leverage for the deleting. I'm not sure what to do. It's from about a year ago.

All of my accounts and debts were opened in NY, but I moved to MI 2 yrs ago, which state's SOL do I follow?

My student loan was rehabilitated last October 2007 & it's showing correctly on TU & EX, but EQ is still showing it as defaulted. What's the best way to handle that? Dispute with the EQ or contact Dept of Ed (they have the loan)? Also, TU is showing that I have double the debt that I actually do, for some reason my student loan is still showing with the original creditor AND with the Dept of Ed. Do I contact the original creditor or TU? Thanks!
