Marv what do you mean by that? So it's easier to get approved on a refi on a vehicle?
-
Okay so my main fear is that with the major credit crunch, I'll be declined. I know someone who's working at a Ford Dealership and he said it's so hard to make a sale these days because no one is getting approved (even people with scores in the 750's). Are there any institutions that aren't as stringent as others?

Wow 3.99?! IS PennFed a national bank or credit union?
-
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've posted in the auto section and I'm proud to say that it's been one year since I've purchased my car and I'm ready to refinance! I've made my full payments (even additional $ at times) on time and I want to get a better interest rate than what I have now. Can someone direct me to some websites/banks that I can refinance with?

Wow, then BOA is full of sh*t then...Identity theft happens all the time and it sucks that he may have to pay that back. How long does he have before it actually hits chex systems? Would he still be able to open up another account elsewhere before it hits?
-
Based on the research that the bank did, they were done inside the branch. You cannot withdraw thousands of dollars at an ATM machine.
-
They're making him pay the -$5000 balance and the police didn't actually come in to investigate..he had to go there on three seperate occasions to even get a police report.
-
How did they get his acct #? Did a teller look it up from the ATM card and not verify security info? Did they let the crook withdraw the 8K immediately? That is my exact question but I know BOA has those swipe machines and all a person has to say is I don't remember my account number and the teller could retrieve it after the card has been swiped. What kills me is that they have ID pics on the card!

So you don't think there's a chance that he'll be able to win this case based off of that factor alone?

Good Morning Everyone My friend is having a major issue with Bank Of America that he's trying to get cleared out. About 1 month ago he found out that he was a victim of identity theft and now the bank is holding him responsible for the fraudulent activities and he doesn't know what else to do. His debit card was stolen and he didn't realize it until a few days later since he rarely uses it..when he contacted the bank they saw that several transactions had been done with the card, a fraudulent check in the amount of $8000 was deposited and withdrawn (he had about $3000 in there already) so the accoutn was -$5000. The bank automatically credited him $500 while the investigation started. He was told to get a police report and some other notorized documents. He did all of that and didn't hear for a few days. Now here's the problem: My friend had his pin number written really small on his card (stupid move, I know) and he did mention that to the service reps when they first documented everything. So now the bank is holding him liable for that! I believe that this was a tiny loophold that the stupid fraud dept had but I think it isn't fair..here's why. 1. The checks were fraudulent checks that the teller deposited without verifying! When the check is scanned through the MICR reader (used to be a teller) it will notify you if the check is fraudulent. Also if there was a proper hold placed on the check they would've been able to find out that the check was fraud and not clear the funds. 2. There are video camera stills that should show that it wasn't him! Point black period! 3. The signatures on the check and withdrawal slip DO NOT match his at all. How is it that someone could come in and withdraw $8000 without the signatures not even matching and not verifying the customer in front of them?! After a certain amount there are things that just have to be verified by more than one person! If anything, the bank should be held responsible for their negligence! So how do we take this to the next level? IMO the odds aren't against him.

Thanks..now which private companies are the best out there?
-
Okay well in the meanwhile, what are some good options for the loan?
-
Yeah I just sent mine in last week but I'm pretty sure they won't give me much if anything at all which is whyI'm not relying on them. They have screwed me over a few times in the past so I'm just willing to bite the bullet and take out a school loan.
