Old judgement how to settle
daboy1da posted a topic in Debt Consolidation, Counseling and Management
The last of my baddies are about to be cleaned off my report due to the 7 year SOL, but I still have 2 judgements that I would like to pay off. Although they are not showing on my report I checked court records and they are indeed there (festering waiting to strike lol!). One is for 10000.00 (citi) the other is 7000.00 (Amex). They both tried garnishment but were unable to due to Child Support. I want to buy a house and dont want the judgements showing up during a title search for the Mortgage. What are my options? -
Sorry made a mistake, its from 2005-2006. It's valid for 10 years and can be renewed thereafter till paid. I really want to work out a settlement.

Good Afternoon all, Just received a letter from the wage garnishment department from my company stating, that there is a court order to levy my paycheck (same company tried before). The problem is that they will not be able to garnish, because I already have a tax levy and child support already coming out of my pay. So they would have to wait a few years to collect. This is their third time sending the paperwork to have funds released to them. The thing is I would like to work out a settlement to get this off my back. The judgement is from 1995-969(already past SOL) Amex card I defaulted on. I did a case search and and saw that I do in fact do have a judgement against me. What is the best way for me to approach the CA? I owe about 10000.00. Thanks everyone for your help.

I called the backdoor # and was told they couldn't find my file. They then transfered me over to the customer service department. The rep told me that its out of their hands and I would have to contact ARSI:( I googled them and saw that they usually settle accounts that have been charged off. I was thinking about mailing them a lowball offer and to see if they bite or should I just wait until they come knocking. I really didnt want to put myself at a disadvantage by making first contact, but who knows how long they will take to contact me.

Amex wants Financial Documents before they agree to a settlement

Thanks!! It's been awhile. -
ARSI just pulled my CR. I called Amex my last big charge off account and they said ARSI is indeed the CA for this account. I would like to finally get this out of my hair. The account is from a 2006 charge off AMEX blue and the total is about 7000.00. should i call/send ARSI a letter for a settlement or wait till they get in contact with me? Wanted to by a house this winter and i feel this charge off will cause me trouble. Can someone help?

The court papers say income execution. The marshal sent a letter requesting the garnishment because of the judgment. I got a letter from my payroll department stating this. the funny thing is one of the CA tried to sue me again for something that was already in judgment that didn't belong to them. They sent a letter to payroll for a wage garnishment, then a week later sent another letter saying to disregard the previous letter.

Its just very peculiar it's not showing up. I even pulled a public record report from ChoiceTrust, which is a lexus nexus company, nothing. I reside in NYC by the way. Thanks everyone for your input. The information on this site is indispensable. I'm surprised there is no charge(no pun intended) lol!!!

I pulled all three separately, nothing. Might have to go to the courthouse to see if its legit, or should i let sleeping dogs lie?

They didn't promise anything yet when it came to reporting. Just tried to renegotiate the total amount and he offered 20% discount. I'm wondering if I offer to pay the whole amount would they offer me a rehab on it? I did the search, but it seems its like the luck of the draw when it comes to rehab. thanks for everyone's input.

Called today to get see if I could pay an old account from 2005. It was for 2000.00. They offered a 20% discount on the total and wouldnt budge. Should I take it and run or wait it out? The account was previously with a CO but got returned back to Macys.

One was and one wasnt. They are from 2006 and 2007. Two different companies Forster and Garbus and Pressler and Pressler.

I pulled my 3-1 and regular report from each CRA and i discovered that no civil judgement showed up on any of them. I am currently getting my wages garnished by two CA. I did get the judgment default paperwork from the courts. is this possible? Will they eventually show up in the future?

I had a few loans which were recently combined and now is on my credit file, but the loans that were combined had recent 60 days lates on them. Is there a way to get them off? My file is showing the the new combined loans and the past loans with the past loans showing the lates. Can i just have the new loan show and have the old one updated or erased. By the way they are both Us Dept of Education Loans and the 60 days was a fault of my own.
