  1. Can you just briefly explain or direct me to where I can understand what cleaning them up means? Thanks a lot!
  2. Hi, thanks a lot What do you mean by cleaning my reports up?
  3. About two months after. I now have about $13k saved up. Some of this is going towards a new car but the rest is going towards fixing my credit as fast as possible What should my next steps be? I'm signed up to Creditkarma, have a bank account now with a good bank What can I do to help my credit as fast as possible? Should I do something when I buy a car? Even though I can afford the car cash should I somehow get a loan for it? Thanks all, you've been such a help in this process

    What now?

Not sure on the 90 days, maybe someone else can chime in there. Use that cash to open up a secured card and start building good payment history. Thanks!

    What now?

Just finished my 341. Took 2 minutes, what a relief! I have around $2,500 cash that I've saved for after BK. I want to re-build my credit as fast as possible What is the next step? Do I have to wait the 90 days before I start improving? What next after that Thanks for all the help on here!!!! I owe everyone so much!
  9. Just went into the local branch and paid off my $90 settlement with them. Got a receipt and the lady said it would report to Chex that I paid in full but they do not delete. How bad is this? Will I never be able to get a good checking account again? Anyway to get it deleted? Would it have been better not to pay it off?
  10. Thanks for the support. So will all these collection agencies be able to get everything off my report? Do you guys think I should have declared bankruptcy? When you say tread lightly when dealing with accounts within SOL - what does that mean? How long would it usually take to clear CAs reporting to my credit report? I have not pulled it since I stopped paying.
  11. It took me almost a year but my degree finally paid off. I had to stop paying my credit cards almost a year ago and I've been living off manual labor work and just about everything I can find that would pay something. I have probably 7-8 accounts in collections and only one judgment (Discover). No one else has taken me to court. The discover account was one of the lowest too ($2k) others range from $200-15k I am semi-glad I did not declare bankruptcy like I was thinking about doing. Did I make the right move or should I have declared? But the thing is now - where do I go from here? Can I get the collections off my account if I work with the agencies and pay them off? They said I can get discounts if I pay them off in cash. Will I ever have good credit again or do I have to wait 7 years now? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks a lot It was all credit cards that went to collections. No loans, foreclosures, or anything else. Just credit cards.
  12. With almost $50,000 in credit card debt. I don't even know how I got this far. I've been out on my own since 16. I have made bad decisions. Most of these cards are just filled with living expenses. My rent, my college books, food, gas, etc. I don't have much to show for it. I really don't even know how I have this much in credit available...without ever having a "stable" job. I have over $100k in available credit left on various other cards. I've also been paying off payments with balance transfers. I've just come to the point where I just don't know what I'm doing. I sat down and asked myself when I was last happy and least stressed and can't even remember. Balances: $23k amex...2.9% $13k citi...8% $10k BOA...10% $600 dell...0% right now $1k discover...10% I could keep living off my credit cards, but I just can't do this to myself anymore. I need to learn how to live on my own. I can't believe I've done this to myself. I have never missed a payment, ever on anything. What do I do? Like I said I've paid my cards off using balance transfers for awhile now. I work in the fitness industry. My degree and what I do does not make a lot of money but I absolutely love my job, it's about the only thing that does make me happy. I'm scared to talk to anyone about this in real life, I feel so worthless. It's completely my fault and I believe it shows how dumb I am. It's like I have this big burden on top of me and I feel like it's never going to go away. Is bankruptcy an option here? Should I talk to a bankruptcy lawyer? Is there other things I can do? As far as living arrangements. I'm back at home and have been. I commute a hour each way to work a day. My parents are moving within the next 2 months so I am going to have to leave here. I appreciate any advice I get. Negative or positive. Thank you
  13. I don't know what a limited C&D is. She did not sign her name. What if they never respond? What can she do?
  14. Dear LVNV/Resurgent/ Sherman I am contacting you about account #XXXXX. I have no knowledge or records of such an account with your company and I dispute this alleged debt completely. Please send me all documents you own on this account establishing the existance of this alleged debt and your ability to collect on this matter. Best Regatds, ME (DO NOT SIGN IT!! PRINT YOUR NAME FROM THE COMPUTER) So she sent this to them. They received it and signed for it but have not sent anything back. She received their signature back on 02/8/08. She has not received anything since. What do we do now?
  15. Anyone? Just need an answer to that last question. Thanks a lot for the help already
