Hey, sorry it took me so long to respond. it was NOV 2009. -
Hey everyone, I just wanted to say first thank you. I had recently read somewhere on this board where a guy had a dismissed bankruptcy on his report, so he sent them a letter that was made by one of the GURU's on this board quoting federal law etc. So, being in the same situation I decided to send the same letter to Transunion and Equifax with some modifications. I received a letter yesterday where Transunion deleted it! Equifax however is a different matter. They sent me some vague response form saying I needed to use an "official" dispute form. SIGH what I am wondering is this: If I send a copy of Transunions letter to Equifax do you think they will remove it because TU did? This dismissed bankruptcy is not on Experian (Thank God) Well, so far I have not had much luck but some Here is my progress: 1. Got A US Bank secured card with a toy $300 limit. 2. Got a Kingsize account $250. 3. Got the dismissed bankruptcy deleted from TU. 4. Paid a collection for $69 for a traffic ticket from 4 years ago (They agreed to delete after I sent them a letter. I have it in writing) 5. Approved for a Capital ONE secured card but really do not want to fool with CRAP1 (Heard many bad things) I mailed verification/validation letters to every "collection agency" on my reports.(4) One was returned not at address unable to forward. Can I use this as legal proof to get the collection deleted? I have not heard from anyone else thus far. I have applied at several credit unions and all of them pretty much told me to "hit the road" I closed my Penfed account I opened in 2007 (when I had decent credit) those people would never loan me ANYTHING! They still had the restrictions on my account, and when I asked them to remove them, they pulled a hard on Equifax and told me NO I closed it, screw them. I remember moving $1000 into my account there, and asking for a secured card back in 07 and that was denied! Now over 10 years ago I had my last name legally changed back to my mothers maiden name. Transunion discovered I had 2 credit files one in the old name, and one in my now legal name. They have now merged the reports together with the wrong Social security number! I Froze Transunion the other day. Now to the biggest problem Bellco Credit Union I sent them a letter "please see my other post for that story" I sent them a letter from this board asking for deletion of the REPO from 2010, and it was not my fault that I was paying on time. They called here they other day, I was not around. I had also asked them to close my account and send me my $30 LOL I will never see it... The only baddies on my EQ report now is Bellco and the two collections "from Bellco" Alpine collections (and the dismissed bankruptcy) if I could get rid of them on EQ and EX, (no BR here) I would at least have two clean files. I just will not apply anywhere that uses Transunion. I am starting to rack up to many Inquires. I am wanting to move to Wyoming where my mother is and start a new business (Computers), I have a 2000 Lexus LS 400 (Creampuff) that is worth over $6k. I have the title free and clear. I want to get a secured loan on the car to help with this relocation, but I refuse to go to a title loan crook lender. Does anyone have any advice on where I can go that is halfway decent and do this??? I applied for a Chase Freedom card because I read where their RECON was pretty good. I got the 7-10 message. I am going to try and call them at the number listed on this board and see if they would go for a small limit $500 or something. Someone slap me

Greetings, I kept wondering why I could not seem to open a bank account anywhere. I Do have a few now so not worried, but I received my Chex report yesterday and there it is: Bank of America 2009 "Account Abuse" So, I noticed somewhere in this thread that after 5 years Chex will remove this item. the 5 year mark will be November of this year. I also read where BOA will not remove even if you pay them. So should I just wait it out?

Well, I mailed them a letter, and it pretty much states remove the negative info or get ready to be sued. They called me yesterday, and my grandmother answered the phone. She states the guy asked for me by my former name "last name changed by court order over 10 years ago". Then he said something about "identity theft" LOL! I did not talk to them. The loan was in my legal last name, not in my former name. I am not sure what to do at this point. Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciated. They have not removed any INFO.

Well, just a quick update. I called the loan department yesterday, and the lady came on the line, I explained who I was, and what I was trying to do. She informed me I would not qualify for a membership in the credit union. She was very short and almost rude. I told her I had already mailed my membership to them. She acted almost like she did not want to be bothered. I told her concerning the membership that your website says different. If you are not eligible to join ABCO through any of the associated groups or affiliations, you may be able to join ABCO FCU through the American Consumer Council (ACC), a nonprofit advocacy group established in 1987 to protect consumers. When opening your ABCO FCU account you will need to choose ACC on your application, this will automatically enroll you as a member of ACC. There are no hidden fees to join ACC through your membership at ABCO FCU.After applying online, I never got a e-mail, a phone call, nothing...I am not real impressed. Well, it is all good. if ABCO does not want my business I will find someone who does. If anyone else has any better luck, please let us know via this thread.

I did mail my membership off yesterday. I did not include any info or additional funds for the credit builder loan, just the $10 for the CU membership, and $10 to put in the savings account. I would have to agree with Occam 17% is high, but the only reason I am even trying this is I am hoping it will lead to something better with them.

I am unsure yet. Well, it does say there is no credit check for the builder loan. $35 fee for loan $20 to join CU $55.00 + the other requirements are pretty strict, and a high APR, but might be a good thing in the end. I thought about calling, but being the weekend and President's day monday might not hear nothing until Tuesday.

Oh and I forgot to say ANYONE can join this CU if you join the American Consumer Council. They have a fixed rate of 6.75% on VISA for the people with better scores. With a History like this LOL I am not sure if this could be the best place to ask for some $ ABCO FCU was founded in 1958 as the Burlington County Teachers Federal Credit Union. Our first "deposit" was $1.50 and we even had to borrow $52 to buy our bookkeeping books and a hand-cranked adding machine. Our first members had to come to our garage to make deposits and take out loans.

Hello, I found this credit union through one of the older post on here. I will say I am not leaving out any details. This went down just like I said it did. I was arrested for something that had nothing to do with this loan. I was not planning any type of scheme. I was paying them on time for the car. I am not sure what to do accept continue to dispute the item. I was actually saving them for last. I have a few more items to get rid of on my report as well. I know that the person who called the law on me was also a member of Bellco CU, and she knew I had just obtained that car and loan from them. I appreciate everyone's insight on this matter. I will continue to do like suggested and just rebuild. I got US Bank Secured, and I was trying to get back in a CU somewhere. My local CU just let me in. I have not heard from DCU, (I tried them Monday) I applied for just checking and savings. They took my money, so I am not sure what is going on there. I have done about all the work I am going to do on credit this week. I have gotten a lot done over the past few days. Transunion seems to be my biggest problem ATM. The other two do not look so bad.

To answer the Poster about USAA I never attempted to try and get back with them or Navy, So I could not tell you. I am not sure if they will forgive or not. With so many options out here today, I am not really trying to get back on with USAA or Navy. I doubt they would have me back anyway.

Well, the charges against me were bogus and dropped. I have receipts showing I paid those notes on time on that car. The note was only $168 a month. Yes, to try and answer everyone's questions. I have just applied for and was approved for a U.S Bank secured with a $300 toy limit. Over the past few day's I have applied for a few things, just to see if I could get something/anything to get some recent trades reporting, and to try and get my credit back on track. I tried the "shopping cart trick", this did not work for me on any of the sites listed. (I had opted out years ago and just opted back in) Back to the car and Bellco, the car was parked in my parking spot at the apartment I was living in. The price of the car was over 4k In my previous post, I stated like 3700.00. This happened in 2010 BTW. Nothing has happened since 2010 with this mess. The charges were dropped a few months later. I moved back to Mississippi to help a sick family member, and that is pretty much it on this story.

Thanks for the responses to this thread. I remember calling them after getting out of jail in Denver (it took me over a week to find a bondsman that would trust me, because they claim I was from MS) They had come and repo'ed the car the next day after I was arrested. They claimed I was not suppose to get the loan for the car to begin with, yet the notes were on time every time. They wanted $2000 cash to give me the car back. Of course I did not have 2K to spend of a car that cost $4200ish dollars. They sold the car at auction, and stuck the balance on my reports as a CO not a REPO for almost $3000. Worst experience I have ever had with ANY creditor! I also had a credit card with them, which I defaulted on after the car thing. The card had a $500 limit. I got the card debt removed from EQ, but they will not remove the car thing, and keep verifying when I dispute with EQ TU, and Experian. If I could get rid of them, and some collection for $69 for a unpaid ticket in Wyoming, I would have a clean report. I still have all my positive paid on time accounts showing from 2005-2006. Any advice on how to proceed with this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
