  1. I know this probably a dumb question, but is it a really bad idea to send a PFD request with a payment? I'm having difficulty with an OC, and I was tempted to send them payment along with a letter stating that the check is only valid if they agree to my PFD request. My guess is that they will just ignore it and deposit the check anyway. I assume there is nothing that I would be able to do at that point. My inclination is that it's not a wise decision, but I thought I'd ask.
  2. That is awesome! Congrats.
  3. What do I do? How do I find out if there is another credit file?
  4. I am hoping someone can help me. Something appears to be wrong with my EQ report. There are only 5 trades reporting, and they have not updated since 2011. There is no balance showing for any of the accounts. All of my old accounts appear to be missing. I do not see any of my past mortgage history. Even though those accounts were paid, I believe they should still report for at least another 10 years. I have never done anything out of the ordinary. I know certain people get split files due to pulling, but I have never pulled the report more than a few times a year. I noticed this about 12 months ago, but I assumed it would resolve itself. What would cause this issue? Is there anything that I can do?
  5. I wanted to ask one other question. Is it bad for me to dispute this account at the same time on all three bureaus? Should I stagger the disputes? Would that likely have any effect?
  6. I can't provide much input other than to say that I've never received an auto-CLI from Amex. They do pull my report around the same day each month (SP). I have been fortunate with CLI requests that I've submitted. I was approved for a 3x CLI and was able to increase it again 6 months later.
  7. I actually tried two GW letters and received the same response. It was a generic message indicating that the account is reporting correctly. I don't know if they misunderstood, but I tried to be as clear as possible in my letter. I've heard people complain about how difficult BOA is, but I feel like this one has been the most challenging.
  8. Does anyone have any suggestions for a paid PNC credit card charge off? I have tried everything. The DOFD is February 2011, so unfortunately, it will report for a few more years. It is on all three bureaus. I have written numerous disputes, but PNC seems to verify almost immediately. I don't think I've had a dispute take longer than 2 weeks to resolve. Out of every creditor/CA that I've dealt with, they have been the most difficult. I thought since it was paid that maybe they would delete it. Unfortunately, that has not happened. I do not see anything wrong with the reporting, so there really isn't much I can do (other than to keep disputing, I assume). Has anyone had a similar experience? Did anything work?
  9. No offense DPDIY, but why are you complaining? I actually commend Barclays in this instance. At least they had the decency to tell you the real reason you were declined. They could have given you some contrived answer and not been honest about you being blacklisted. Can you blame them? They gave you a chance once, and you burned them. They're not going to let that happen again, at least not intentionally. I'm sure there are plenty of other banks who want your business...Barclays isn't one of them. Their blacklist is not going to be perfect, and I think you're blowing it out of proportion. They deal with a lot of customers, and it makes sense that some people who should have been declined will end up getting approved. However, they've basically told you that they won't let that happen if they can avoid it. Read about any blacklists on this board, and you'll see that they are not perfect. I don't understand your rant at all.
  10. Amex will absolutely blacklist you for $400. The good news is that they will keep it on their records, and even though they can't legally collect the balance, they will allow you to voluntarily pay it. That should get you removed from the blacklist.
  11. It still doesn't make sense. I was approved on 12/1/10 for Amex gold which is 2.1 years old. If I apply for an Amex card this month and get approved, it would give me an open date of 1/1/2010 making the card 3 years old. If I apply for an Amex card next month and get approved, it would give me an open date of 2/1/2010 still making the card 3 years old. what ham I missing here? I've always been under the impression that the months do matter. I've seen AAOA reported as 6 Years 2 Months. It may not seem like a lot, but a card opened in January 2010 is 6 months older than an account opened in July 2010.
  12. It's to get the maximum backdating, I suppose. They take the current month you apply and then backdate it to your original year. Basically, an account opened in January gives you the maximum backdating, since it's the first month in the year.
  13. Don't quote me on this, but I remember reading that TransUnion is generally the easiest. I saw reports of people having items deleted as much as 11-12 months early, but the norm seemed to be in the 6-9 month range. Experian and Equifax appear to delete at the 3-6 month mark, with significantly greater success in the 1-3 month range.
  14. Tried this twice, and it came back Verified both times.
  15. I am wondering if someone can help me. I am having a major problem with a duplicate charge off that is reporting to Equifax. It is from PNC. From what I can tell, it appears that the duplicate entry happened when PNC assumed National City's credit card portfolio. I have two entries for PNC, and they are both showing all of the same information (DOFD, Open Date, Balance, Credit Limit, etc.). The only difference is that one has a Michigan address (old National City), and the other has one from Pittsburgh. The old Michigan tradeline does not show or indicate that it has been transferred or converted to PNC. I have tried disputing this tradeline numerous times, but it has been verified. I wrote two letters to PNC, and nothing has worked. They are insisting that the account is only showing on my report once, and that the old National City tradeline was converted to reflect the PNC change. I even sent them a copy of my Equifax report, and they still insist that there is only one PNC entry. In their latest letter, this is what they said: "The report of information you are disputing is not contained on a report created by any of those three consumer reporting agencies." Really? I'm glad they think so. I have a paper copy of my Equifax report, and PNC is clearly listed two times. This seems absolutely ridiculous that I'm having this much difficulty getting this removed. Does anyone have any suggestions?
